My son's fevers (without other symptoms) are usually 3-4 days, but

he is on day 7 today.

1.Is this unusual for or these other conditions?

PS: Usually, his fever starts out around a rectal temp of 102.5 and

we keep giving him Motrin for the 4 days until it's 99 and then it

dissapears on it's own.

This time, it followed that track for the first 4 days, but he woke

up with it on day 5 and it was 101.5, gave Motrin all day and it

went down considerably, then spiked to 103.7 that night, 103.5 on

morning of day 6, and has been slowly decreasing since with Motrin.

He broke this huge sweat last night 2.5 hrs after his 8pm Motrin

dose, temp was normal, and has been only a rectal temp of 100.5 all

day without Motrin.

2.Is this an unusual pattern? 3.Does it indicate anything to any of

you from your experience with this? 4.Does it seem like too many

days of fever?

Any responses would be helpful and appreciated :)
