Guest guest
Hi: I was just reading some of the responses, and the only thing that I can say is that I have been fortunate enough that the Gleevec has worked for me since Oct. of 2000, as it did for many others. The only thing that I have said, is if you get side effects and can live with them do not switch to another drug until you have no other option. Some have severe side effects that they just cannot tolerate, and others I have seen just do not want to give it a chance. They get a cramp or something, and they want to switch right away. Its Leukemia, not a head cold. If you have something that is working for you and you are a little inconvenienced with the side effects where it has changed your lifestyle, but are in remission or getting close to remission what more can you ask for. I have changed my way of living in a lot of ways from the way I feel, but I would not have it any other way. I was diagnosed a week before the holidays in December of 1998, and thought this is it I will never see my family again for another holiday. I am heading for Holiday number 11, and plan to enjoy every minute of it. I hope this helped someone.
