Walter Payton does, indeed, have PSC. He is awaiting a liver transplant

through Mayo's. Put his name into your search engine and there are articles

about him and the added awareness of the need for donors. He is very well

known in the Chicago area as a football player for those of you, like me, who

are not 'into' sports very much.

Ok, as I understand it, the way it works is you go through

this organization that works with the celebrities and they

contact the celebrities agents etc etc.

Ed, my father's friend, showed my a Time magazine article

about it, with his daughters photo in it. I photocopied it,

finding it is another matter :) >>

I think this is another big area where the CFIDS Ass. of Amer. is letting us

down. Their most recent report, I believe, showed income of $1.7 million.

Surely, they could get a celebrity for $200,000 or so. Since the CAA has

stopped funding MOST research and has concentrated on awareness and

fundraising, it would seem logical for them to get a celebrity. They could

even

stop paying the Washington, DC lobbyist they have.

Dear Bob,

You can never tell, your brief encounter with celebrity may have opened

someone's eyes and ears to what is going on in the real CML world from people

who experience it every day. That is a little on the amusing side about the 96%

reporting side effects on a placebo.

I am in full agreement with you that we need to know what it going on, but

it seems encumbent upon us to find out and tell the doctors. LOL

Take care, Bob, you are a national treasure.

Blessings,

Lottie
