Guest guest
Hello, We've been using predilisone (Orapred tablets, 15mg) for 's fevers for around 6 months. At first, it was a miracle drug, since suffered from febrile seizures and long episodes. Sometimes the fevers are 5 weeks apart, which is his regular schedule, and sometimes now they are 2 or less weeks apart. Its very inconsistent. I asked our ID dr about this and he suggested that I increase the dosage of predilisone (Orapred), so that he takes 1 tablet every 12 hours for 36 hours, at total of 45mg in 36 hours. He thinks over time this will help the fevers get back on a 5 week schedule. This goes against everything I have read, and our own experience, and I worry about giving so much of a steroid. The dr assured me that its fine to give this dose. Has anyone tried to increase the dosage in response to increased fever frequency? If so, did you notice that the fevers spaced out? Thank you, Ruthie, mom to , almost
