Well put - thank you for the kind words!

Hello everyone - I hope that you and your little ones are/get/stay well this

holiday season.  I am VERY concerned and kicking myself about my daughter.

had been fever free for seven weeks.  It was the longest stretch yet in

almost a year.  Her fevers were starting to spread out and I thought maybe she

was getting better - " growing out of it " .

Yesterday, we switched her and her twin sister to " big girl " toddler beds from

their cribs.  They were both so happy and excited and seemed to sleep on the

beds just fine for their nap yesterday.  They both went to sleep just fine last

night and neither seemed overly stressed.

At 12:45 a.m. this morning, wakes up and vomits all over herself and her

bed.  She can't keep anything down (as of noon today) and her temperature

started rising as soon as she got up this morning.  She has never vomited with

before so I am not certain what is going on.  We have an appoinment with

her pediatrician for tomorrow afternoon - no one can see her today - so that we

can check for strep, pneumonia, etc.   Both she and her sister had a slight

cough for a few days, but it seemed minor and Alice seems fine.  This leads me

to suspect 's and the stress of the toddler beds and holidays.

Does anyone have a child that developed vomiting as a part of their fever

cycle?  If so, would you mind sharing your story and any advice you may have

with me?  Thank you very much for your help!

Our son vomitted whenever his fevers would climb rapidly and were high

(104-106).  It seemed like the trigger was usually when it would climb very

quickly.  He would go from just around 100 to 104 and up within 20 minutes.  He

usually always vomitted when that occurred.  He did also vomit off and on at

other times during episodes, I had to be really careful with what I tried to

feed him, very mild stomach calming food.  Usually toddler crackers were the

mainstay to get solids in him.

Stress can also bring on more severe episodes, it happened to us a few times.

He was already due for an episode and we moved two states away.  That episode

was one of his worst and it came on the day we left (we drove with a large

Uhaul).  It was so hard to see him miserable and stuck in a car seat!

I look back now and wonder how we made it through all of those times.  I suppose

at the time you just do what you can to get your child through it and past it.

Tyler had his tonsils out August 5th, 2008 and has not had a fever since a week

before the surgery.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that they won't return for

him!

I hope your little girl feels better soon.  Maybe the worst of it will be over

by the time Christmas hits.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays

My son would always vomit the second day of his fever. It seems as

though it would happen when his fever would spike rapidly. He would

usually just vomit the one time, and would never continue any further

for the rest of his episode. Happy Holidays!!! Hope she starts to

feel better soon!

Yes, would occasionally vomit during fever episodes. It too was when his

fever spiked high and fast. It would only happen maybe 15% of the time, so it

was hard to determine what really was going on.

My only advice is to keep her very well hydrated. THe combo of a high fever and

vomit can really dehydrate these little ones so quickly. Good luck!
