Guest guest Posted May 24, 2009 Report Share Posted May 24, 2009 When I was first diagnosed ('05) I went to a lot of websites, saw a little photo of this unusual marking on the fingernails among common symptoms, and recognized it at once. I thought, " Ah ha! So that's what that's all about. " I had been thinking maybe I didn't have enough calcium, protein, etc. They are up-and-down (as opposed to crosswise) ridges in the nail. My toe nails broke into pieces which was sometimes painful. Nail polish helped. I still have nail problems on Tasigna, but they are not as bad as with Gleevec. ho Br J Dermatol. 2006 Jun;154(6):1216-8.
