I get it periodically and believe it's due to fluid retention. I find the more

I move, the less of a problem it is. I also try to drink coffee more when it

happens which makes me pee more which ultimately makes it go away.

Hope it gets better soon,

Tracey

& ,

Do you keep a food journal on what you eat then taking your medication?

I feel heavy legs when I get invited out, and I eat

the wrong foods like anything with gluten.

Sorry I am so late reading all these emails...however, I think the heavy leg

condition comes when one has inflammation or edema in the legs.

I occassionally get these, and I know because most of the

time the clothing I wear looks like a sack!

Re heavy legs - not sure if it's to do with the Glivec but a friend of

mine used to suffer terribly from this and had probs getting in and out

of a car. An 85 year old lady (who has beautiful ankles!) gave her this

little exercise to do and it works: Hold onto a door frame or table top

to lightly steady yourself and rise onto tippy toes 10 times. Do this

morning and evening and increase the number of times as your legs get

stronger.

Can't do any harm and might do some good.

didn't read them as it wasn't a problem of mine---spoke too soon. I'm

experiencing fluid retention in my lower legs and a feeling of heaviness

and weakness. I've has orthopedic problems (hip replacement and fused

ankle) so have always lacked strength in my legs but it seems like

something else is going on.
