What you volunteered is plain common sense. It is how people survived before antibiotics. If you opened your medicine cabinet, there was everything you needed. I remember merthiolate, everyone had that, along with iodine, vinegar and alcohol. Mother had zinc powder in the kitchen cabinet, I don't know why, but I even remember it had little yellow ducks on the top of the can. She also kept black Icthamol ointment.
