Guest guest
Hi, had is T & A and ear tubes last Thrusday (6 days ago). He was at the tail end of an episode, so his tonsils were pretty nasty when the doctor removed them. It was really hard when he came out of anathesia with hysterical crying for a solid hour and a half. It was the longest hour and a half of my life! He was acting like a wild man. The recovery so far has been really rough. Nights are terrible, I am so exhausted. We are alternating Tylenol (with Codine) and Motrin, but it only seems to take the edge off for the 1st 2hrs and then he's screaming in pain. If day 6-8 are supposed to be the worst, I'm afraid of how bad it's going to get. He's gotten to the point where we have to hold him down and force the medicine down his throat, which has never happened before. Normally he loves taking medicine. He also is dreuling (sp) everywhere. Of course his eating and drinking are at a bare minimum as well. Anyone have any suggestions or words of encouragement for me? I really feel like this is just as bad or even worse at times as a fever episode. I'm trying to look forward to the end result in order not to lose my mind, but I just dread the night time when the crying starts in.
