Guest guest
Hello, my name is Macdonald. I was given information from a family friend and I think we might finally have an answer to my daughter 's health issues. is a bright 9 year old who has reoccurring fevers about every 32 days. Her fevers typically spike around 105.2 and a low fever for her is around 103 with a Tylenol and Motrin regime controlling the high spikes. Her only other symptoms are chills and fatigue. Last year she was diagnosed with mono and since then she's experienced monthly fevers. Each doctors visit typically ends with a " it's just a virus " discussion. She was seen by a ID last year but each time her symptoms were gone by the time we could get an appointment. Blood work has been done twice to rule out " the really bad stuff " . In addition, had whopping cough (which immediately went into pneumonia) at the age of 4 1/2. She was hospitalized and we were told at that time that her immune system probably would be very low for quite some time. So that's exactly what we've always thought - that she has a low immune system and every little virus was a big virus to her body. Reading now about at least has given me hope that there's really a name for the condition she has and that it looks like no long term effects. I haven't yet discussed my diagnosis with our family physician yet but soon will be. He's typically very receptive to checking into areas of diagnosis he's unfamiliar with.
