Guest guest
Best cough suppressent for asthma? I have changed my diet to vegetarian/no dairy, and my asthma seems to have gone into remission. I wish my asthma would continue and my cancer would go into remission. Is there any data on diet change to help with asthma? Dr. Corn: Some asthmatic patients state that they feel better when they eliminate certain foods, but this is more dependent on the individual and what he or she reacts to, rather than asthma as a disease process. ______________________ If you have a constant, hacking cough, which disrupts everything, including sleep, conversations, etc. It is also a reactive cough to smells, heat, cold and stress. Tussionex works like a miracle, but it is so regulated. Is there anything else that is a miracle cough suppressant? Dr. Corn: Tussionex is a combination cough suppressant (hydrocodone) and a sedating antihistamine (chlorpheniramine). Rather than focusing just on the symptom of your persistent cough, I would recommend that you visit an allergist for a full evaluation of your allergic triggers. Once you know what you are currently allergic to, you can minimize your exposure to those things and, consequently, reduce your coughing. Furthermore, there are newer, powerful, nonsedating antihistamines that can minimize postnasal drip and cough when used in conjunction with an anti-inflammatory nasal spray and leukotriene modifiers. Lastly, depending on the severity of your cough, an asthma inhaler may also be warranted to control it. http://www.everydayhealth.com/asthma/specialists/whats-the-best-cough-suppressan\ t-for-asthma.aspx Blessings, Lottie
