Guest guest
, I'm responding to your post, and just to let you know that you are definitely not alone. This is a great board to be on. You will learn so much just reading the emails as they come in, or I encourage you to search online and see the past posts. I looked for some of my posts that I'd written previously about our story. It evolved from the time I joined this group at the end of 2006, and then we had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy 12/11/2007 and have been fever free since. There are various treatment options, but only the T & A is a possible " cure " , the others seem to simply reduce the symptoms. The options that I'm aware of as the most prevalent are: Prednisone (Liquid Orapred being the most common for young children in the US); Cimetidine (generic for Tagamet); Singulair; and some are finding results with Colchine (sp?). We tried two options (1) Prednisone (with a few behavior issues) and it did stop the fever in it's tracks with a few side effects and (2) cimetidine with no results.... but you can read our story below. Welcome. I'm sorry you have to be here, but at least you found the right place for knowledge, asking ANY questions, and tons of moral support. FYI - we are in Atlanta, GA (and my husband has an Aunt named Alice) Ginger Daughter - le, 3 years old (fevering since 7 months, diagnosed at 15 months, T & A on 12/11/07, Fever-free since 11/16/07) Son - Jay, 15 months old
