Guest guest
Hi Cha and all You asked about Hans....He isn't doing so well lately. We've decided, with the backing of the Education Department, the school and the specialist to home-school Hans as he just can't go to school enough to be assessed and is losing ground. He is really tired all the time now and the effort to get up early to catch the bus, the bus trip and the climbing 2 flights of stairs all day, with the usual school program etc is just too much for him. He was really crook during the holidays and just recovered before going back to school and on the first day back he got crook again......vomiting almost everything he eats. We are at the stage where I have to cook him separate meals if he eats anything at all (he no longer tolerates dishes he ate previously with no problem) and most of the time he will bring it back up during the night. We are due to see the gastro doctor on the 23rd of January but don't want to wait that long and have rung her. She said to do an abdominal ultra sound asap and to ring her back. That is scheduled for Monday. I think to get to the bottom of this we need to do the dreaded series of " scopies " as Heidi calls them. We really want to do that soon as it is just too painful to see your child like this and not be able to offer any help. I know you all understand. When I have some news I will let you know. Hans will be 13 in February and this has been going on just too long. Here's hoping for some long-awaited answers, Take care, Debbie, mum to Hans (almost 13) ?? Guest guest
Just want to wish you the best with homeschooling. This is our second year homeschooling my two oldest children (neither ). It can be challenging at times, but it also has many advantages. My children have advanced greatly acedemically since beginning the homeschool experience! Being able to schedule school around my child's sickness & Dr. Appts has definately been a plus. Just wanted to let you know that the homeschool thing is doable and I can see the great benefits when have a child with PFS. There is some great homeschool curriculum and it really makes teaching much easier. There are also videos & online classes (for one or all subjects) if a parent feels more comfortable with that. Wishing you the best! Melody Dalton ( - 2.7 Years Old)
