Hi ,

I remember how tiring it was to get thru the day when first diagnosed, but still

ran the property and fed the family etc

as you do.

Suggestion

I used a slow cooker - could not even rouse myself to cut any foods up -that

took all my energy

Well this was the best tool - just threw in meat, veges, liquid and let the

cooker do its stuff. You cannot overcook,

foods is nutritious and tastes fantastic.

Ate fruit if I could not be bothered making sandwiches or rolls etc.

I think Bobbie said drink heaps. Good suggestion, drink 1 ml to every mg of drug

you have - so if you are on 600mg then drink

two cups of water. Then drink water thru the day often. Keep as hydrated as you

can.

Eat heaps of food - do not take glivec on a empty stomach or light food. Do not

take with coffee or tea - you can take with water or apple juice

only

Cramps - many of the CMLers have all sorts of cramps in the early stages,

including pain, aches, bone pain, bone aches, muscle soreness

etc. All sorts of hints and suggestions that will be able to be given - so just

ask away. After the first year - most bone aches and pains do go

and you maybe left with cramp of foot, toes, legs, hands and fingers - thank

goodness not at all the same time. Ask at point of time as not

all people get these symptoms either.

I myself every now and again have toe cramp - yes I am the one hopping up and

down or sitting on the ground, pulling back those toes laughing

or going oooh ! ooooh ! aaaah !

Bobby stated that this is an elite group being a CMLer. I agree - you can have a

fantastic life with CML .

Many women also have hormone problems - not all - but many - so this is an issue

that you have to address - get yourself a good gyno wo will careshare

those issues with your CML specialist.

The suggestion is to be proactive with your health issues and ensure you discuss

issues with your specialists etc so that they can support you.

That is what they are there for - Keep all appointments and as Bobby has

suggested - keep taking your medication.

The first few months are the worst; then after the first year you can look back

and go boy how far have I come.

Rest, eat healthy and heartily, take medications, and do something for you each

week.
