Guest guest
LOL OK I can see I need to make a group reply concerning the loss of my teeth so here goes :-) I used a product called " Plus White " that you can buy off the store shelf. I had been married to a dentist, and when I got very sick with the AS he divorced me (the Cad) So Dental hygiene was not on the top of my list, even though I was working while I still could as a Reg. Dental Asst. When I was sick for so many years I did not take proper care of my teeth, and I kept using the toot h whitener product I thought my teeth looked great and that they were OK. The product got under my gums and ate away the roots and the bone structure surrounding my teeth. We went to court. The tooth whitener people argued that the AS caused me to lose my teeth. My lawyer proved that the as if anything should have calcified my teeth in place not make me lose em. There were other cases of people losing their teeth from this product and my lawyer was able to drag all that into court. In the end we did not go to trial the tooth whitener CO paid 3500. My lawyer took 2800, SSI took 640 of the money and I got to keep 180. Because of this product I lost all my teeth nd had to have 4 sugeries on my gums it was not fun. Shortly after that was when I was put on the AP so this all happened about 4 or more years ago. The store bought look good and so does my attitude except when it comes to the tooth whitener products. Guest guest
I have been warned also that some of the teeth whiteners take the enamel off your teeth. Better to have them bonded (I think that is the word) to make them whiter. I have found too that dentistry is not on the top of my list of priorities either. I absolutely hate dentists and have not been in 2 years. I was supposed to get a root canal and just didn't do back. Glad I didn't knowing what I do now but I probably should have had the tooth pulled out. Guest guest
Dear listmates, Our son and one other son whom I believe is " on the edge " both have their permanent teeth coming in with opaque white spots on them. The dentist describes this condition as " irregular calcification " in their permanent teeth. He said that this could possibly have been caused by a virus present when those teeth were forming. Does anyone else have kids with this calcification problem? I wondered if this could even be connected with any particular virus (always grasping at straws trying to figure our son out). Thanks in advance for any responses. Caroline
Guest guest
Hey Caroline! I actually have those bright white spots on my two front teeth. Had them since sometime in early elementary school (I'm 26 now)... and have been very self-conscious about them. Asked the dentist about them last year and was told it is calcium-based. And I've read that it could be caused by antibiotic use in early childhood. Never heard about it being connected to a virus, though. Interesting! Possible clues: My mom said I was the only child (out for 4) who had the Roseola virus. Plus, I'm the only one who was a HUGE milk drinker. (Finally gave it up a few months ago and noticed I had been living in a constant state of bloatation!) My son, nearly 4 years old, had the Roseola virus his first year and was a milk-o-holic until last fall, after his diagnosis of PDD-NOS and I started researching everything and found the food-connection. He hasn't lost any teeth yet, but I'll be sure to watch for the spots when he gets his permanent ones in! - ( " Wonderwegian " ) :0) Reality lies beyond the horizon.... Guest guest
Yes, my eldest son has that too. I was told the same thing. In fact my sons 5year molars had to all be pulled out because they had this problem so bad that the dentist didn't expect them to last long at all. He has them on his front two teeth and on some of the bottom teeth as well. The dentist Xrayed and said some of the other teeth still in the gum, have very small spots as well. I was very worried about this, but thought that maybe its because we have fluoridated water. I couldn't understand, how he never was that sick and yet all of these teeth were supposed to be affected by a high fever during formation?? I never thought of the component until now, but my son who has the problems with his teeth is not diagnosed with ASD , but has immune issues that appear worse than my ASD son. He has many more allergies, and if he drinks milk he has a persistent cough which becomes pneumonia if he gets a cold in winter. I discovered that milk was the problem two years ago when we had to get the teeth pulled out and the appointment kept getting postponed because he was always too mucousy to go under anesthestic. I had heard that milk can be mucous forming so I decided to take it out of the diet within three months all of the mucous went away and he hasn't had the persistent cough since. He was considered borderline asthmatic but now there is no sign of anything like that at all. I guess they both have but one has Autism as an extra side effect. It is interesting that you mention this, maybe there always has been and possibly still a virus present in my son that had caused the teeth to calcify? What a frightening thought. Cherie. Guest guest
Hi a, I did get an appointment for the end of March. The first visit is 75.00 and that is for everything, including x-rays. I have to call for directions, because they told me, they are on Walnut St. and the computer says Locust. I need to get the correct address as I am taking the train downtown. I don't like to drive down there. I will let you know how it goes. I am anxious to see what they say. How are you feeling lately? How is the job going? I hope things are good for you. Guest guest
GMCLady, My teeth started to hurt a couple of years ago. They started getting sensitive to hot and cold foods. Three years after implant one tooth cracked and I had to get a crown. Four years after implant another tooth got a crack on the side and I ended up getting a porcelin cap. Then another just last fall had a piece that came off during flossing. My dentist filed it down and coated it. I never had these kind of problems with my teeth before implants. Like all my other health issues, I never linked this to my implants. I thought age was the factor. I am only 32. I was having problems that my mother is having at 50, who is a drinker and smoker. I was also blaming bad genetics. I missed all the warning signs for years. I know you want proof it is your implants. It is not that easy. I had no proof it was mine till they came out, and I saw improvements. I am only three months post explant so I dont have many just yet, but enough to know for sure it was the implants making me so sick. In my honest opinion, you need to get you implants out ASAP. The sooner you do the sooner you can get started on healing. LGMCLADY98@... wrote: Did anyone have dental problems ? Guest guest
Lots of dental problems have been evident with women with breast implants. Mine didn't start right away, but after 8 years of dealing with this implant-associated illness and the residual after-effects, I've noticed a decline in my dental health that nobody else in my family has experienced. Guest guest
GM, We've seen a lot of unusual dental problems among implanted women . . . Why, I have no idea. . . Unless, with our immune systems worn down by dealing with breast implants, we're susceptible to more bacteria problems in our teeth and gums. My only recommendation is to do everything possible to take extremely good care of your teeth! . . . Massaging around the gum line is important. The bacteria that builds up there must be disrupted every 24 hours . . . When you floss, push the floss up into the gums as far as possible while wrapping around the tooth in front and behind the crevice being flossed . .. . then brush thoroughly - two minutes is recommended. I know there's some discussion against Fluoride . . . but ACT has a mouth wash that hardens the enamel - even though it has Fluoride. I underwent a series of dental procedures last fall that, I believe, stressed me so badly I developed breast cancer! . . . I'm not a good dental patient! I abhor anyone working in my mouth! . . . If anyone had shown me the proper way to take care of my teeth early on, I think my problems could have been avoided. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Are you going to a neurologist? I had those same MRI's however, MS wasn't ruled out until my neurologist did a spinal tap. My doctors were the same way... I went through so many tests, I could have been awarded for all the blood they took from me. I got soo tired of all the tests. Especially because they all came out "normal". I pray you find the answers you are seeking, my dear. Guest guest
Oh Sis, I am glad you mentioned that. I was going to ask anyone if they've had shooting pains in their gums, because I just started getting those! How strange that yours went away and mine is just starting. It's scary. It almost feels like my teeth are being attacked from the inside out instead of the other way around. I don't know what to make of it. I'll be sure to ask my new holistic dentist on Monday. Guest guest
GM, You'd be shocked at how many tests implant women have had run . . . and at how many of them come back normal - even though they're very, very sick! . . . . The best news is that, even those who have auto-immune diagnoses usually find those symptoms gradually disappear after their implants are out, and they work at detoxing for a while . . . I'd say, give yourself a year after explant and detoxing before getting concerned about what you MIGHT have! . . . I'm betting you'll be amazed (probably amaze your doctor too.)
