Guest guest
I am having teeth problems - my dentist said they are decaying from the inside and they are so soft - like butter. He seemed surprised. Don't know if this helps, but I thought I would share that. Cherie > Did anyone have dental problems ? Guest guest
Rogene, I was one of those who was diagnosed with mulitple autoimmune illnesses, and had many abnormal tests - blood tests, MRIs, spinal tap. It was frightening. I now recall early on saying it was important to find a good surgeon who could remove the implants - that no surgery was better than bad surgery. I found a good surgeon. I was a mess for over a year after surgery, but then my health started improving dramatically. It has been a little over two years now. My last blood test was normal. My rheumy didn't even take an ANA until just a couple weeks ago, because earlier she said she knew it would be the same as it had been for the 5 years prior to surgery. Well she was wrong. I had one taken, and it was normal. Before explant, I had 4 or 5 blood tests, all abnormal - and not borderline, but high ANA, and several high specific antibodies. I have not had a repeat spinal tap (for obvious reasons) or brain/c-spine MRI, but I am not going to worry about it since I am having no real neurological problems now. I don't take half of the medications I took then, and I really hope that I can stop all of them eventually. > > GM, > > You'd be shocked at how many tests implant women have > had run . . . and at how many of them come back normal > - even though they're very, very sick! . . . . > > The best news is that, even those who have auto-immune > diagnoses usually find those symptoms gradually > disappear after their implants are out, and they work > at detoxing for a while . . . > > I'd say, give yourself a year after explant and > detoxing before getting concerned about what you MIGHT > have! . . . Guest guest
My husband's first wife has silicone implants and her teeth are rotting as well. She was actually part of the Dow lawsuit, but oddly enough even though they were leaking she didn't get an explant - although she looks much larger within the last year or two, so I'm thinking she may have replaced them. Guest guest
GMC, I was diagnosed with MS from MRIs and spinal tap. Dr. Weiss told me that even in cases like mine, he believes the course of the disease is milder with women who have had breast implants removed, than in other cases. I took Avonex for a short while, but the side effects were horrible for me. I quit taking it. I haven't had any major neurological problems in over two years. What bothers me most now is not MS related symptoms (I had ataxia, numbness & vertigo), but carpel tunnel - and that has improved considerably to where I never wear splints anymore. My internist was the first to tell me that autoimmune illness can cause or aggravate carpel tunnel. I was stunned. I had no idea, but had assumed it was all because of plain ol' wear and tear. Now I do believe her. My symptoms are much much less than they were, and I don't type or do any less now than I did then. I absolutely 150% believe that implants can cause these problems, and that PROPER removal will make a difference in many cases. > > I am going to explant as soon as possible my appt is May 17th...I had MRI'S > today for brain c spine and T spine...the doctor wants to rule out MS...I know > I couldn't have that...I pray I don't. >
Guest guest
Molly you have a great testimony, and it really encourages me. Guest guest
Sis, I am so glad you are seeing improvements. I am hoping to one day return to work also. I am not feeling quite so good today. It looks like my hubby is sharing his cold. I am feverish and feeling weak. I hope I don't get another cold sore out of this. So needless to say, my symptoms increased this morning. I did feel pretty well down in Texas. I over did it with walking around and by the third day, I very tired and cranky. I hope I feel better this weekend, it is my birthday on Sunday and my sister is taking my girls so my hubby and I can spend quality time together. Thanks for asking, Launtsisnj <auntsisnj@...> wrote: , how are you feeling? Guest guest
Good Morning All - here's something that I have been encountering with one of my upper teeth. Last year my dentist sent me to an endodontist because he thought I needed a root canal. Thank goodness the endo was honest and wasn't out to just " make a buck " . He did all the testing and said that it wasn't root related at all. I had said to my dentist prior to being sent that I thought it was sinus related. He really didn't think it was possible but it is. Every time I get a sinus infection, or one is about to start, this particular nerve starts acting up - like a shock effect. If I don't do a nasal flush and use my spray, it's actually quite painful, particularly when I bend over. Just something to think about when things start acting up with your teeth. It's worth remembering anyway. Hugs to all, Judy P. Guest guest
I believe even the unrelated things are effected by my CMT. teeth Charcot Marie Tooth disease has nothing to do with teeth.
Guest guest
Just to add to the conversation, CMT is also known as Hereditary Motor Sensory Neuropothy (HMSN). My son has sensory issues effecting his eating as he has texture issues. I have heard from two different doctors that it is related to his CMT sensory effects. So you may have more sensitive teeth if you have CMT. Lori
Guest guest
Gretchen, you are so correct. With me I can't feel the infection, but it takes 3 - 4 doses to freeze my mouth. Go figure! At least where the root canal is I don't have to get freezing anymore. :-) Thanks From: gfijig Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2010 1:16 PM Subject: Re: teeth Re the LC site: that is ancient information. Only in " Reactions to epinephrine in freezing " it states " Some of us do have problems with dentistry though mainly because we may not feel pain the same as everyone else (we may feel it more or less) or we have adverse reactions to the ingredients of dental freezing " . Do you realize how many millions of non-CMT affected people are affected by pain sensations and dental processes? Gretchen
Guest guest
Interesting to see epinephrine mentioned as a possible problem....it took a couple of pretty bad experiences before I realized I needed to avoid local anesthetic that contained epinephrine. Not only is this used in dental freezing but also in epidurals. Warm wishes,
Guest guest
CMT has absolutely NOTHING to do with your teeth. Jim
