Hi! My name is and my 3 1/2 year old daughter Emma has had a

high fever every month since July. Take her to ped. and EVERY month

her throat looked red and lymph nodeds swollen, he would do a strep

test and it was always negative. He would tell me, its a virus, let

it run its course - if things get worse call us. I was SO tired of

hearing that so this recent episode went to Dr 104 temp on Motrin,

they gave hre Tylenol. strep test neg. Its a virus. The next day on

Motrin 104.5 temp. Call - tell me to do Motrin then 3 hours later

Tylenol and keep doing that til its gone! Well, I new something was

wrong with this virus stuff, her brother never catches her MONTHLY

virus! So I took her to Children's Hospital here in St Louis. The ER

Dr read the notes and said he could tell I was frustrated. Then he

kinda smiled and went thru the sypmtoms and It was Emma. He

said she had a condition but would run immunoglobulin tests and

referred her to the Immunology/Rheumatology Dept. for treatment and

they will follow her 'case'. The information he gave me said this

usually ends at age 10, then I read some of you have older children

who still have episodes?? I read getting tonsils out can help, any

one do this and did it work. I cannot take seeing her so miserable

and whining and shivering each and every month, and all I can do is

Motrin & Tylenol!

Thanks for any info!
