Hi everyone, This is in Virginia (2 hours west of DC). We got pummeled by the snow! The "official" tally was 32.5 inches. I'm lucky that I rent because I didn't have to shovel. Also, I live across the street from the county hospital so my street was one of the first to be plowed. Yesterday was my first day back at work since last Friday!

Take care,

Hi Jan, I've only been in Virginia for 3 winters. Prior to this winter, it snowed once each winter 2001 and 2000 (less than 3 inches each). As of today, the local schools have closed 14 days (they only allot for 2). And it's still February!!!

Stay warm,

in VA

I have been in the DC area since 92, and this is not normal. According to the TV, normal is 18 inches over the winter and we have now had 40 (including this 24"). This is the most we have had except for the 38" we got in April 96. I was lucky, two kids dug me out for $15 ($7.50 a foot)!

Keep warm and pain free,
