Guest guest
Hi Dave IÂ have specifically read time and time again that one of the characteristics of is that the kids DO NOT have stunted growth. Generally they don't eat well during the episodes and then tend to have growth spurts in between episodes. However I know that excessive use of corticosteroids such as prednisone, which many of us use to stop episodes in its tracks, can cause stunted growth. Did you use much prednisone? Emma was always on a low percentage weight-wise and has now, 9 months after successful T & A, had a MASSIVE growth spurt. She is literally shooting up and skipped a shoesize altogether and all her pants are too short suddenly. Maybe your son will also have a growth spurt like that soon Hope this helps Take care Inga
Guest guest
I have never seen an article or study on it myself. Our son has always been very tall for his age. He began fevering at 3 months old and had his T & A this last August. During that time he was always in the 90percentile height/60 percentile weight. My husband and myself are on the shorter side 5-3 " and 5-10 " - but my father's side all the men are over 6' so maybe Tyler has his height from there. Pruden Tyler Pruden 3yrs old - fevered starting 3mo old - T & A Aug 5th, 2008 no fevers yet Dylan Pruden 9mo old
Guest guest
My son has had the exact same situation. We were in the doctor for " failure to thrive " a couple of months before our diagnosis because he used to be in the 60 percentile as a 1-2 year old and now he is almost four and in the 5% percentile. My husband was small as a child so we aren't too worried about it. It is interesting to hear others have the same situation though.
