Guest guest
Hi everyone! We just got done with a full round of blood tests and my daughter has officially been diagnosed with . She has been fevering since about 18 months and is 4 now, so it took us a while to get here. Now that she has been diagnosed, I need to decide on treatment. Her pedi is really flexible and willing to work with me on this. I am not willing to consider a tonsillectomy at this point, so I am between prednisone and doing nothing and sticking with the tylenol/mortin rotation. I know in some instances, prednisone can increase the frequency of the fever. My question (first of many I am sure!) is if I give her the prednisone and the frequency increases, will the frequency go back to what it was if I take her off the prednisone. Or would that treatment forever alter her fever pattern? Our concern is her taking prednisone monthly. Her pedi is much more comfortable with her taking the prednisone every other month but feels with monthly doses we have to consider side effects even at such a low dosage. I could use some advice on where to go from here! Thanks in advance!
