Hi: I know this subject has been brought up awhile back, but I would like to

know how many people get these dizzy spells that are on Gleevec.

I had a real bad one today well I was driving. I could not focus my eyes

and I saw double. I was driving, and my husband was with me.

I hate his driving, so I decided to drive. I made it into a parking lot at the

store we were going to. I had to sit for a few minutes to

get my bearings. Then we went into the store, and we were in there for a long

time. I was fine. He did drive home, and I felt very tired and

dozed off for more than a hour. I have had them periodically, but not like the

one today.

Hi all.

I wonder whether dizzy spells are part of the CML, not the Gleevec.  My

daughter, Robyn, had many dizzy spells before she was diagnosed with CML.   The

New Jersey doctor did not think that it was related to CML, but the doctor at

Sloan Kettering in New York thought that it was.  This occurred before she

started taking the Gleevec.  Since she is on it, she has not had dizzy spells.

Her  blood pressure tends to run on the low side and never caused dizzy spells.

I have had that as well. My Oncologist could not explain it, but I

have come to believe it was an issue with blood pressure. I am on

Tasigna and while I have always had a steady 126/68 BP, mine has been

climbing the 18 months I have been on Tasigna. In fact at my last

visist it was 155/112. When it was that high, I got the same dizzy

feeling, so in my mind, that is what it was.

Are you on Gleevec? Ant other significant side effects.

This may sound awful, but it is comforting someone else has

experienced it. I thought it was unrelated to meds, but with someone

else reporting it that makes it more likely to be associated with

treatment.

Hello Cmlers,

I have had many of those dizzy spells in the past and

currently. When I feel they seem bad, I tend to stay

at home more. When they were bad, like not being able

to walk, or go anywhere, I called an Acupuncturist, and

had a friend drove me over to her office for a session.

After the needles, came the massage, what a nice relieve

it was! Now, I don't have too many problems.

But what I would like to know is if anyone is experiencing

the rashes again?
