Guest guest
, Gay and Suzzie and Anita, you are all right. We know who's in charge. Even though we don't all get the same responses, there is a higher power who makes the decisions. One decision we can make is ask for Versed. You have to ask in advance, because they need someone who is certified to administer it. I asked my local oncologist for it and he said it had to be done at the hospital where they had certified people to administer it. All his nurse could do was shoot me up with valium and that didn't help the pain, anyone in their position should know that. I would prefer having a good technician any day than a doctor. Every one done by a doctor was brutal in my case. Remember you may be the only CML patient your doctor has and has not done one since he was an intern. If you feel you are being abused, you have patient's rights, so use them and complain to someone. Versed is conscious sedation used before surgery to relieve anxiety and/or impair memory. You are not unconscious, you just don't remember what happened. You are able to respond if they ask you questions. You will not be able to drive your automobile and they will not release you unless there is a person to be there with you. Do not try to drive your automobile under any circumstances until you are fully over the effects of the drug, usually the next day. It's called milk of amnesia becauce it looks like milk of magnesia. http://clusty.com/search?input-form=clusty-simple & v%3Asources=webplus & query=vers\ ed FYI, Lottie
