Hello there everyone. My son, Jace was diagnosed with over a

year ago, he is 4. As with many of your children, Jace's symptoms

are much the same. I can always tell days before his fevers start

that it is coming. He complains of headaches and is super crabby,

not his go lucky self. Once his fever comes on we have vomitting,

lack of desire to eat, mouth sores and he just wants to lay around.

It has been a long year.

We started Jace on the predisone and it seemed to speed up his every

24 day fever to every other week. Although the steroid worked on him

instantly and at first we were so excited, it made him absolutely

crazy. He slept walked, would not socialize at all, was naughty,

unruly, and I think it was literally driving him crazy, as was me!

He is the last of 3 kids and is the most quiet sweetest boy ever so

his personality change was sad.

Our Doctor took Jace off the Prednisone after 3 months and January

1st we started on Cimetidine. I know it is way too early to tell but

things have settled down a bit for Jace, Knock on wood somewhere. My

doctor has mentions T & A as the next option and I was wondering what

kind of results you have all had with it......

Also, I am new to message the group but I have been reading the

messages you have all wrote and I say " Thank Gosh for ya all " I have

a great Doctor and supportive friends and family but nobody quite

understands like someone in your shoes.

To all you Moms and Dads out there with kids, my hat is off to

you. Our children have taught us a great deal of empathy and

patience and the will power not to knock someone out that says " He is

sick AGAIN???? "

Thanks for the help guys.

Mom of Jace
