Guest guest
Hi Anyone out there with a child with asthma? MY son had some difficulties breathing last night. This unfortuneatlely after almost 2 years being asthma free. I thought that it was outgrown quite frankly and did not expect it to crop up again. This is a consideration in chelation, also he has an antichlolinergenic drug called atrovent that I use for emergencys that works in opposing ways that benthanacol would work. This concerns me that atrovent might somehow undo some positive in behavior, Anyone know something that might help? He is currently using albuterol every four hours. kelly P.S. I would hate for him to get back on steroids.
Guest guest
Thanks for all the asthma responses . I have not started chelation yet. I am trying to pinpoint what may have caused this food, air borne particles and I am not too sure. Right now I am just trying to remove all the dust from the heating vents as our heater has just been turned on recently. The only other thing that was new food wize was a fruit juice freezers from miss robens. grape and cherry freeze pops. oh well off the clean. kelly
Guest guest
-I came across a tiny blurb in a magazine that said vitamin K and vitamin C taken together worked for a large# OF ASTHMATICS. B6 works for some people-including BOTH of my kids hope this helps JEAn Re: [ ] asthma >Hi > Anyone out there with a child with asthma? MY son had some difficulties >breathing last night. Guest guest
This sounds unbelievable, but I am a chronic asthma sufferer and someone told me to drink water or tea made with 2 cardamom pods boiled in the water. I have been doing this for 6 mos and have not had an attack since!!! I was on steroids before that, am off even bronchodilators since. Worth a try and harmless for kids too. Guest guest
Asthma could be due to lead toxicity. Have you started chelation yet? (etc, Etc, etc!!) I blast my heating once a week to burn off dust. I've heard many children(inc mine) react to grapes also - so it could have been the juice, i'm sure you'll find the cause soon. Best wishes, margaret.
Guest guest
, Many folks on the Paleo list report that their asthma is gone on a paleo diet. www.paleodiet.com www.neanderthin.com you can get the books at the library. the diet must be strict, however, no traces of grains now dairy. Beverly, I am glad to hear this!! >> beverly Since using the gf/cf diet my child has not had any ear infections at all , (knock on wood.) literally . this has been his first asthma attack in a long, long time. I have a feeling that this time it was caused by a recent cold and recovering and then another bout with a cold with very little up time between. Why he is always the one to get sick is probably due to why I am on this list . It could also be viral related and god know what else. He has definetely improved over the last 6 months since I have intervened with treatments. It is certainly a much less severe attack. (again knock on wood). than he has had in the past. Keeping my fingers crossed that I will continue to find ways to help him. thanks to all of you and my neverending searches. kelly
Guest guest
Both my kids have/had asthma. One and 1/2 years ago they were on abuterol anf flovent every day and on Prelone every month to 6 weeks. That is until we stopped all dairy. That cut the use of steroids to twice in the last 18mo. Avoiding wheat and chelation has just about cured them. They take no regular asthma medicine. I just keep it on standby I guess. It is too soon to tell if they will get a flare up or not. We also use Hepa air filters in all rooms the kids use. There is a lot of air polution every where from Acrolene(sp). It is the by product or burning fossil fuels, ie autos heaters industry et cetra. It is odorless and colorless. In small amounts it causes eye and sinus irritation and in larger amounts irritation to the lungs and in high doses it kills. I hope we all realize that our kids are assulted in many ways from our poluted air/water to medicines containing toxins. We filter our water with reverse osmosis and eat organic foods(80% of the time). I am voting democratic but am thinking GREEN! Guest guest
Dear Bob, This is an ongoing problem in this country. We all replaced our washable floors to carpet. Now that asthma has come to haunt us in epidemic proportions, we are beginning to realize that we need to go back to the basics. No more chemicals in cleaning products. I told Jimmy today to stop buying all those cleaning products that make me sick. Back to basics, like baking soda and vinegar are now being touted by allergy specialists. Pediatricians who see sick children every day are advocating using special mattress and pillow covers that are so tightly knit, that the mites cannot thrive there and die off. Now there is a bed bug infestation going across country, with even the best hotels reporting their presence. Good for your daughter. She will soon see a difference in your granddaughter's asthma attacks. Carpeted rooms are the perfect breeding ground and habitat for house dust mites. By some estimates there can be approximately 100,000 dust mites living in a square yard area of carpet in your home. Controlling dust mite populations in carpetted homes can be done by vacuuming regularly or even removing carpet and replacing it with tile or hardwood. Dust mites are particurally more active in flooring in Autumn and late Summer. " Dust mites are everywhere in your home, in your carpet, the clothes in your closet, your couches, and in even your bed. This article will overview various dust mite habitats (with pictures) and what can be done to reduce their population in the specified infestation area. More information on where you can find them in your home. http://www.dust-mites.org/dust_mite_habitats.php Decrease exposure: http://www.allergybegone.com/dustmite-exposure.html?GCID=S11639x032-AllerEd & keyw\ ord=dust%20mites & gclid=CNu_zejygpoCFQJHxwodATuRGA Don't let the bed bugs bite, Lottie
Guest guest
You should check with National Jewish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. They are the #1 facility for lung diseases.....and Denver would be better for you because of the higher altitude and lighter air. Another option would be the Mayo Clinic in Arizona (better weather for you and much drier air than the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota). ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: dragonflymcs <dragonflymcs@...> Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 6:42:53 PM Subject: Re: [] Asthma Hi Sam, I was diagnosed with RADS by EI Dr.
