Guest guest
Hello to the whole support group! Just passed my first anniversary from diagnosis. You cannot know how much the caring and sharing in this group have meant to me. I am one of the lucky ones. My 12-month tests all came back " undetectable " . I am PCRU! And I found that I can handle the 400mg Gleevec daily OK. I had a 3-month stint on 600mg late last fall when someone decided that my response was suboptimal. And that was a miserable time for me; I know where my limits are! I went into an appointment with journal articles and treatment guidelines, and won my case to go back to 400mg. This I can manage. In one year I have gone from sheer terror at the news of the diagnosis to incorporating it all into my life. Now I can concentrate on finishing my PhD (which for someone who is 60 will be a real celebration!). Many thanks for all your sharing and caring!
