Guest guest
Dear Jackie, Welcome to our group, you will find that we are friendly and always ready to answer questions. We have patients who are long term Gleevec patients, and some are on newer drugs such as Sprycel and Tasigna. I am in a trial that does not yet have a name. I was diagnosed at age 67 and still alive and kicking. Patients diagnosed today can expect to live out their lifetimes. I hope you will become a participant and share your results with us. You are young to have CML, it usually happens to older people, but we have some younger in our group, even younger than you. Some people are able to continue working and others file claims for disability or take early retirement. I was already retired when I was diagnosed. We all know what a shock it is to learn that you have CML, no matter what age you are, but I would think that having 3 children would be more difficult, you wonder what will happen to the children. They will learn to adjust and you will go to their graduations and weddings like everyone else. I am a great-great-grandmother and I still go to graduations. I went to one 3 weeks ago and we had 5 generations there. Do not hesitate to ask any questions, we have been through the whole 9 yards and nothing is off limits. Blessings, Lottie
