Guest guest
Sheila, Wow - I think it is great that you have gotten improvement. Have you been repositioning? If you have been getting results without the helmet I can see why it would be so hard to decide whether or not to go for it. My stepson (age 6) has some flatness and facial assymetry that I JUST noticed when he was visiting last summer. He must have had some mild plagio when he was a baby. It is noticable to noone but me and that is only because I am a member of the plagio police (LOL - can spot a flat head a mile away!!!). Perhaps if the condition is mild enough and little to no facial assymetry or ear misalignment is present then it won't be noticable later in life and the band wouldn't be necessary. We banded our daughter at 9 months and it was a cut and dry decision. She had flatness, facial assymetry and ear misalignment. We got pretty good correction, but wish we could have started sooner. Best wishes with your decision. Whatever you decide to do will be what is best for you family and you will have our support! Guest guest
Sheila: We have a handful of successful repositioners among us! Hopefully they will pipe up soon. If not, consider searching thru the group's archives. You may find some helpful messages there. Plagiocephaly Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2001 9:51 PM Subject: new member from chicago Hello,I am a new member and am thankful for this site in my research. Aileen is 8 1/2 mos. with flat back right. We are trying to decide if we should get the doc band (very close to our home). What makes the decision so hard is that she is moderate to mild (prob. moderate) and it did used to be worse. She doesn't ever sleep on the flat spot anymore and doc says it will round out. Does anyone have a story of one that DID round out on its own? I know time is running thin at 8 mos. and she should be banded soon if that is our route. Cranial has measured her once and then again 5 weeks later. Improvement was shown. I admire you all and appreciate input.ThanksSheila from Elmhurst, IllinoisFor more plagio info
Guest guest
Hello everyone. I'm glad I found this place. I was diagnosed with RA in 99, but it has only gotten worse in the past couple of months. Most of the time I find myself in such despair and pain with no one to talk to about it. A couple of weeks ago my doctor put me on methotrexate, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I'm also in the process of looking for another doctor, cause I'm not feeling comfortable with the one I have. I look forward to chatting and reading everyone's posts.
