Guest guest
How did I know you would chime in, Jeff:)? FYI, in my opinion, caring for others is not anathema to socialism, it is the very FOUNDATION of socialism. Anyway, I see that this whole discussion has generated a lot of heat and I've read a few more of poor Chantelle's posts and see she is in a terrible situation in Scotland, and sick, to boot, and understand her anger more. I've been horribly ill and know how angry I was at the world. Take care-Sally in Little Rock rheumatic Re: Thanks for the info > Hi Sally! Guest guest
HEIDI- I've got both Kombuchas going (I like mine shaken not irradiated LOL) TAS- I'm looking at the cheese info as we type :-) Question- would letting kombucha culture to the vinegar phase have the same health benefits? Could I use this kombucha vinegar like any other raw vinegar? But speaking for kefir beer vinegar, it is a darn good vinegar, I'd guess kombucha would be similar. My kombucha has never GONE to the vinegar stage, it seems to resist that more than the kefir beer does, or maybe I just have never waited long enough. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone that responded to my post about visiting MD in June. Your information was very helpful. I understand they will be starting the Ariad trial June 5th at MDA so maybe I will run into some CML friends while I'm there on June 15th. I'm leaning towards staying at the Rotary House because of the convenience and this being my first time there I think I will feel more comfortable being closer to the clinic. I'll be there from June 14th - June 18th so if any of you are also going to be there during that time let me know so we can meet. Thanks again Patti Simbulan
Guest guest
I think I'd want a doctor to look at the xrays first and decide " Looks like time to replace " or not, without initial regard to how old the rest of your body might be. Your actual age should, IMO, be a secondary factor. If it's bad enough though, it's time to do it. It's not as if it's going to get better on its own, and it's not as if this is some new technology where they are working out the glitches. Youngest double hip replacement I know had both his hips done at 18..he's now 25. In a message dated 9/21/2009 11:10:24 A.M. Guest guest
Look into resurfacing; I think everyone who has the bone density to support it should at least consider it.. I have one hip resurfaced and the other will probably go under the knife in the next six months. It was a good solution for me. I DO believe that the latest THR technology should last a lot longer--so the old argument to wait as long as possible no longer is as valid. Resurf in my case is pretty much back to normal after nine months. I am a fan, but it isn't for everyone. BTW, I was 64 when I had it done.
