Guest guest
Hi, Greg, & Rich, >Can anyone tell me if they have had changes in their fingernails, and if >so, what types of changes?? > >Which way do the ridges run? Are they parallel with the fingers, or do >they run across the fingers? Mine run parallel to the fingers, but my nails also bent down at the tips, to the point where it can start digging in to the finger. They are also very soft and brittle - any growth past about 1/4 inch past the end of the finger and they start splitting and break off. From that I tend to get hangnails frequently. I have seen pictures of fingernails that are wavy due to vitamin shortage - one of the B's, I think maybe riboflavin? - and the waves are much larger and run the other way, across the fingers. (That is apparently due to fingernail growth starting & stopping with vitamin status, giving the same effect across the whole nail bed at once.) Guest guest
Hi, Dianne, > >I have same problem with horizontal ridges in my nails. I just ran across >a product I am going to use. It's called " Clear Nail Antimicrobial >Solution " . The ad shows 6 fingernails and one of them looks just like >mine. According to them it is caused by microbial infections, which can >include fungi, bacteria and viruses, (God knows we are loadad with all of >those) and it's difficult to know which is the cause. It contains >benzaklonium chloride, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that attacks >all types of microbial infections. It's in Lifestyle Magazine and you can >call 1-800-669-0987, it's number is UDG887, it's called Dr. G's Clear Nail. >$29.95. You will notice improvement in as little as 2 weeks (so it says). > I am skeptical, but will try it. I hope it isn't like the tinnitus pills >I took last year. Said they would cure tinnitus, didn't to anything. Will >tell of my results, good luck if you try it. The benzalkonium chloride is powerful stuff. I assume that it is topical? You can also buy a bottle of the pure benzalkonium chloride concentrate, which is expensive but you only use a 1:1000 dilution so it lasts forever. Forgot where we got ours - that was 3 moves & 15 years ago. Guest guest
Sue I think they meant ridges. We had a discussion on them some time last year at another place. LOL http://beauty.tips.net/Pages/T004634_Removing_Fingernail_Ridges__Video.html http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nails/AN00591 Your group of ladies might want to read the above and use that as a discussion in your next chat.
