Has anyone gotten a DEXA scan to determine bone density, fat, muscle? Did you pay out of your own pocket or got insurance/medicare to pay? How much did you pay?

I am helping to set up a wellness clinic in Houston and have found prices ranging from $110 to $150 but not sure about reimbursement for a whole body DEXA.

I had a DEXA scan a year ago after my Kaiser Permanente endocrinologist looked at me and concluded that I was not 5'9" as I had always been since my early 20s. We measured, and I had lost one entire inch! I attribute some or all of that loss to the meds that I was on.

She immediately ordered a DEXA scan. My Kaiser Medicare Advantage plan paid for everything except a $10 copay. I think that the going rate for the scan is around $100.
