Hi Guys, I am in Paris at the moment, and had Silkskin injections about 4-5 years ago. I am finding I need further injections because the permanency of the product is not so permanent or maybe my lipo is getting worse. Whatever the case may be, I spoke to my Doctor in North America before I left for Europe and he suggested further injections of Silskin. ( Which is microdroplets of Silicon ) I decided to visit a Parisian Doctor recommended by the AIDS society here in Paris for her take on the situation. ( I was hoping to get a better price than 1700 dollars per treatment of which I need 5 minimum. She was appauled that I even had Silicon injections done in the first place. She said they were illegal in France because of the safety issues with Silicon. They use NewFill which is the sugar based filler which is not permanent but the government covers most of the treatment

here in France because it is safe. She told me I am a walking time bomb with this silicone in my face and that she would also not inject New Fill over the Silicone because I may have a severe reaction. I am totally devastated by the news. She also said I should never consider more Silicone because injecting the same product may produce a horrible allergic reaction. What do I do now. I need more filler, but am freaked out about getting more Silicone and cannot use anything else according to her. Plus the fact she claims I am a walking time bomb has also upset me greatly. Any info or input from you guys on this forum would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luke.

Thanks Mark and everyone else who responded to this posting. I e-mailed my physcian over the weekend and he got back to me right away with information and reassurance that everything should and will be fine. He has been using the product for over 10 years now, with no problems, or 'ticking time bomb' allergic reactions. I feel substantially better and reassured that I have not made a horrible mistake. Again, thanks everyone for your support and information.

Luke,I know how you feel.I got threee sessions on silikon microdroplets at 1700.$ per session, and I was told I'd probably need five more.I'm not worried about safety at all and I think your french doc must have been talking about bio-alcamid,as I haven't seen any issues about safety here in canada,.I just didn't have the money to go on with the silikon injections, nor could I afford the temporary fillers like newfill. So I went to see Dr.Cassavantes in Tijuana, and so far have spent about 2800.$ and its pmma, which is permanent. Its a product thats been around for along time, years in fact, primarily used in reconstructing burn victims faces and arms and legs.It doesn't look great when first done...but by seven weeks looks amazing!!I think you will find out good things if you research Dr.Cassavantes.Good Luck

Thanks for your input , Just to let you guys know, The French Government covers NewFill injections for French citizens with HIV. The patient is only responsible for the cost of the procedure itself which is around 300E. per session. You'd think our wealthy countries could be compassionate enough to provide us with the same service.
