I used to live in Boston and frankly I think it's easier to get to Montreal than NYC. My partner goes to Dr Laplante in Montreal. If I understand correctly he trained Dr Frechette, and the price is FAR cheaper than what you would pay in the US. Contact me if you want details. I also have friends with a furnished apartment for rent that's walking distance from Laplante's office and near the main subway and bus station for easy transfers to the airport (and also a few blocks from the "Gay Village" if that's important to you!). We go, partner gets a touch up, and we make a little holiday weekend out of it. Cheaper than Brazil or Paris! Good luck ... - Joe <terrierjoe@...> wrote: Hi all - Just checked the Sculptra website to look for a doc and there was a surprising number of them that are now doing this procedure. I have been going to Frechette in NY (for 4 years) and did one trip to Montreal to see Herbert. Frechette is just getting too expensive and the trip (from Boston) is a real and expensive hassle. Herbert was very good (I actual prefer his technique over Frechette's) but again the trip to Montreal is a hassle. Has anyone used any of the Boston docs for a Sculptra treatment? There are several around Portland (Maine) too. If anyone has any experience with any of them, I would appreciate opinions there also. All responses greatly appreciated, Joe

- Could I get Sculptra covered by their access program and have the procedure done in Montreal, or is it separate for Canada? I know I'm eligible for Access, but I really can't afford the procedure here in NY.

Just to clear the facts, Dr Frechette was the second

Doctor in the USA to do sculptra, and he was trained

by Dr Anglearth in Miami

(the first doctor to use sculpta in USA).

If any one needs Sculptra in NYC, Dr Kaminski has

competitive

prices and he has an incredible eye for face structure

and filling

evenly.

His office number is 212-253-6800

Hi Bill, I have NO idea whether the Access program works in Canada. My guess is no, but you would have to ask them. We were going to Dr Laplante before Sculptra was legal in the US, and had such good luck with him that we have just continued. We have friends in Montreal so it's easy for us to go there frequently.Anyway if you're in NY you know it's not that hard to get up to Montreal - 6 hours drive, 45 min by air, or you can take Amtrak. I do NOT represent Dr Laplante so can't quote what his price would currently be. But we last saw him in October 2007 and my partner had ONE vial just as a touch-up. The fee was $598 for material and administration (and sales tax!). This was Canadian dollars of course so depending on the exchange it could be a little more or less when it shows up in US dollars on your credit card statement.(This was a huge advantage a few years ago, before Bush and his cronies flushed the US dollar down the toilet!!! Vote Democrat for

a stronger US dollar and cheaper Sculptra in Canada!)Dr Laplante's office number is 514-285-5500. The phone recording starts off in French but you can press 9 to continue in English, then you press 3 to make an appointment. When you reach a human, they'll answer in French, but if you speak English, they'll switch to English! When you say you want to make an appointment with Dr Laplante, they'll ask if you want general medicine or "aesthetics", you tell them you want aesthetics. He told me that he also does bioalcamid but he is more satisfied with the results he gets with Sculptra. (My partner gets the treatments but I always go in and watch for moral support ... it is a bit painful, after all.)Good luck! - Bill Gaul <wgaul1@...> wrote: - Could I get Sculptra covered by their access program and have the procedure done in Montreal, or is
