Guest guest Posted January 12, 2008 Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 I tried effexor and then lexapro a few years back, and both caused sexual side-effects and made me so nervous I couldn't sleep for more than 2 hours at a time. I talked to a pharmacologist, who agreed that I "may" have had more side effects due to the Norvir in my regimen, but that's just a theory. I've been doing fine with Cymbalta ever since. No discernable side effects except slight drowsiness about an hour after I take it, and that's abated over time. BG effexor (sp)? Group, I've been on Prozac for about 9 mos, and what little libido I had left, is now gone. I've spoken to the shrink and he is recommending we try effexor.
