There's no direct studies yet about testosterone and Valtrex just yet, but the

reality is that

if you improve methylation you likely raise glutathione and raised glutathione

will lower

testosterone. It is seemingly as simple as that. So if you are modulating

Adenosine with

Valtrex and you had very high or low levels it will likely affect methylation

and glutathione

and therefor testosterone. In my mind, it's pretty clear that if we improve

methylation

either by Valtrex, or MB12 or lowering the amount fungus in the gut, or feeding

with

simple foods and using less enzymes to digest food.... ALL of these things can

improve

methylation and raise glutathione levels and therefor lower abnormally high

levels of

testosterone.

As I'm thinking about it, Valtrex may also be doing other things that help

methylation that

we don't know yet. We have only discovered the adenosine connection so far.

There could

be more to this.

My son was a floppy child, so in children testosterone does not have to directly

relate to

muscle size, especially if you have severe sensory or digestive issues. You

need to feed

the muscles and the brain needs to have access to the muscles. For example, in

the

extreme case of a coma, if the muscles are engaged by the brain there will be

atrophy

regardless of the testosterone levels.

On the other hand, there are adult autistics that are amazingly strong. My

cousin is one of

them.

Anyway, my suggestion is to try it for yourself and see what you observe since

all of these

children are uniquely affected.

We ended up seeing a Pediatric Endocrinologist because the lab messed up

(forgot a decimal), so my son's level showed up as 10x normal. So from that

visit I found out that if testosterone IS elevated, there will be definite

physical signs- hair growth, genital enlargement, and a more muscular,

strong child. I confirmed this with 3 doctors.

And I would think that the interest in private parts would not correlate

with LOW testosterone (at least it wouldn't in men, right? :)) Hope that

helps,

Sorry, I missed the question the first time.

The DAN! consensus right now is that the safe way to go after the

testosterone is with antifungals. Nizoral was one of the ones they

mentioned as being a good one, but I suspect Diflucan works well

too. There are medicine's that go after this, but right now most

docs are afraid to go after it directly with a testosterone lowering

drug. I would try Diflucan or Nizoral (Nizoral may be a bit more

toxic than Diflucan so you may want to ask your doc to monitor liver

enzymes, but many docs swear by Nizoral as they do Diflucan).

I also feel testosterone changes with MB12. You may want to try

that as well. Really, anything that improves methylation and raises

glutathione will lower testosterone and vice versa. If you have

high testosterone, you will have lower glutathione. Valtex will

probably help kids struggling with high or low adenosine which can

affect methylation.

I would try to work on raising glutathione through antifungals,

MB12, possibly Valtrex, transderman glutathione, etc and if that

doesn't work let us know. I'm not comfortable giving out the name

of the medicine that lowers testosterone directly because of the

possible risks in directly lowering testosterone in that way..

Let us know how you do.

Stan,

Did they happen to mention the length of time that we should keep our kids on the diflucan in order to lower the testosterone?

In " Advanced metallothionein profile " -GPL Lab.

the levels of Glutathione of my daughter was:

8129.00 umol/l (reference range 800.0-1500.0),

so very high levels.

elevated total glutathione may also be elevated in heavy metal

toxicity, it does not mean that testosterone automatically is low...

?!????

It starts right away and stops right when you get off.... for the most part.

The real trick to managing testosterone in general IMO is to lessen the fungus

and

bacteria (diet, antifungals, probiotics), improve methylation (MB12, vitamins

and

supplements, Valtrex, etc), antiviral therapy (Valtrex, OLE, VS) and properly

feeding the

body (SCD Minus IGG Food Allergies, etc).

Bascially, everything we learn about biological therapies for autism seem to

modulate

testosterone.

Two ways.

1. A blood test for testosterone.

2. A test for glutathione (if you have low glutathione, you have high

testosterone... it's that

simple...according to my discussion with Dr. Mark Geier.)

According to Dr. Mark and Geier, yes.... that number sounds wierd to me

though.

What did the lab suggest?

According to Dr. Mark and Geier, yes.... that number sounds wierd to me

though.

What did the lab suggest?

" According to Dr. Mark and Geier, yes.... " does it mean, yes it

is correlated wuth heavy metal toxicity?

( " wierd " what does it mean?)

1801 NEUROLOGICAL EFFECTS OF CHRONIC URANIUM

AND STRESS EXPOSURE

Toxicology,University of Florida,Gainesville,FL,2 Laboratory for

Neurotoxicity Studies,Virginia Tech, Blacksburg,VA and 3 Biomedical

Science,Virginia Tech,Blacksburg,VA.

We have previously demonstrated that acute exposure to uranium

produces increased brain uranium content and has adverse neurological

consequences.In this study,we examined the behavioral,biochemical and

histological effects of 6 months exposure to implanted metallic

uranium pellets with and without concurrent stress.

A total of 20 uranium and/or tantalum pellets (1mm x 2mm)were

implanted in the gastrocnemius of each rat.Stress was applied 5

days/week for the entire exposure in a random pattern of

handling,restraint,and swimming to minimize habituation.

No effect of uranium was observed on behavioral endpoints, however

stress decreased body weight and increased fine motor activity at

times longer than 4 weeks.

Implantation of uranium pellets produced dose dependent increases in

brain,kidney,plasma,and urine uranium levels.In striatum,uranium

content increased from 0.4 ng/g in control to 1.4 ng/g in animals

implanted with 20 DU pellets.

Plasma samples taken during the course of exposure indicated that

uranium was consistently elevated. The highest dose of uranium caused

significant decreases in cerebellar norepinephrine (16%)and striatal

dopamine (15%)which were not modified by stress. No effect on total

glutathione was observed in any brain region, though stress tended to

increase levels of GSH.Serum chemistry analytes and hematocrit values

were unremarkable across all treatment groups and there is no

data indicative of reduced glomerular filtration. These results

demonstrate that intramuscular uranium fragments produce ongoing

mobilization of uranium, that at higher levels modify the tissue

content of neurotransmitters in the CNS.These changes were not

associated with significant changes in behavior, motor activity or

memory. This work was supported by the Military Operational Medicine

Research

Program by DAMD17-1-01-0775.

hello to whoever wrote this-- you are the first person who has mentioned uranium in a child's heavy metal, toxin report. Well, here's another- 2 years ago or so ina test done by Doctor's Data my grandson test VERY HIHG on uranium. I got very upset seeing this-tried to gathr as much info on it as I could and nobody really gave me any good answers-except to say it's in the ground and he may have gotten it from the dirt-playing outside, hands in mouth etc. I even tried the state of SC Environmental Agency to test the dirt outside the house and they refused-the did test the water tho from the tap(which he doesn't drink anyway) and found it to be fine. meant very high-lots of typos -sorry. Haven't retested himsince then on this. Maurinemarilina_hp <marilina_hp@...> wrote: Thanks

hello to whoever wrote this-- you are the first person who has mentioned uranium in a child's heavy metal, toxin report.

Hi Maurine,

One possible explanation if you live in California and you did a hair analysis

is that it's the

external exposure of bath water.

Most, possibly as many as all kids in California who do a hair analysis will

show up high in

uranium. There is a documented 110 foot pile of leaking uranium at the edge of

the

Colorado River and that goes through Las Vegas and ends up being used as 25% of

the tap

water mix in California. DWP does NOT test for uranium in the water... but you

can figure

out why. Ask Doctors Data or Great Plains Labs and they'll tell you that most

of their kids

from California are off the charts in uranium in the ahir.

I've been told by a nuclear medicine researcher that the molecules are too large

to get

directly through the skin, so I've not done a whole house filter, but I would

never cook with

it or use it for drinking. This is why I strongly suggest " Drinking Water " or

" Reverse

Osmosis " water which filters heavy metals.

If you decided to do a whole house filter the best option that I've seen is to

ionize the

water which also takes out metals and replaces them with salt molecules

(basically making

saline), then you use a Reverse Osmosis filter at your sink to get the salt out.

A home

system of this type is about $6,000 dollars to do it right. I was very tempted

to do this,

but I never did.

The cheap sinktop or refridgerator filters just take out chlorine, but a Costco

Rerverse

osmosis filter will take out metals quite nicely for drinking. I use one for

our school. Or,

you can ask your water providor for " drinking water " (no floride, yes to added

minerals if

they have that option) and certainly NOT " spring water " ... or what we called it

when we

were growing up " Well Water. " If you look at the EPA's definition of Well Water

and Spring

water, they are practically the same. Spring water can NOT be filtered and it

can NOT be

callled drinking water because it is not verified as being drinkable. Drinking

water if

filtered down to be free of toxins to a particular molecular level. Most of our

water is

contaminated to some degree... regardless of what mountain you bore a hole into.
