Guest guest
I got an email today from one of the local hospitals that I emailed trying to find an oncology Dr who specializes in CML. The email said that there was a Dr right here in the same city I live in that sees patients and he is from Cancer Center. He will also see me with no insurance and will charge me according to my income or nothing at all. I can't wait til tomorrow to call and talk with them to see what I have to do to get in. Please keep praying that all will go well. For the last 2 days, I have been feeling really bad. Every time I get up to do anything, I feel as if I am going to pass out. My husband and daughter in law tried to get me to go to the ER but I refused because we can't afford to pay anymore hospital bills. Of course, my husband said he could care less about a bill, he just wants me to be well. I really think it's just side effects to the Gleevec. I am sure I will get better and if not then I will ask this Dr tomorrow. Blessings,

Guest guest
Dear : God does answer prayer, and not always in our timing but in his. I hope you do very well with this new doctor, and also adjust to the Gleevec. I have had that passing out problem with new meds in the past. Its a terrible and scary problem, but the Gleevec did not do that to me. Are you eating a good meal before you take your medication? In the beginning, I would feel horrible if I did not eat enough before taking the Gleevec. Sometimes I did not feel like eating, but would force myself to get enough in my stomach to absorb my medication. From: wendyphillips54 <wendyphillips54@...> Subject: [ ] Answered Prayer!!!!! Guest guest
Well I found a new Dr and I end up back in the hospital all in the same day!!! Evidently the Gleevec is not working because my WBC is back up to 88,900. I also have been very weak for the last 3 days and had some tenderness on my left side so I am in the hospital to try to find out what's going on. At least I'm getting care and they will work with me on the bill. My husband said he is not worried about a bill, he just wants me to get well. He is staying with me at the hospital. he is such a sweetheart!!! I will keep you all posted on what I find out. Guest guest
Weelllll , I can't say that I did eat a good meal because I have no appetite most of the time. I am in the hospital now because I had 3 days where I was just so weak I could hardly walk without holding on to something. I get a new Dr and end up in the ER and then in the hospital...just my luck. They are checking my spleen and liver and also gonna see why the Gleevec is not working. My WBC went up from 77,000 to 88,900 in less than 2 weeks. Oh well, at least I am getting the care I need now. Guest guest
Thanks Jackie, I am back in the hospital now but at least I am getting the care I need. Everything will be ok. Thanks for your prayers and please keep praying for me. Maybe they will find a drug that will work for me. The RN told me I was in for a long stay...not sure what she meant by that but guess we will see. Guest guest
Thanks Beth, I think they are getting to the bottom of something, lol. I feel much better today and the new Dr seems to be really understanding and seems to know what he's talking about. Of course, I AM still new at all this so if he knows anything about it, he knows more than me, lol. He did put me back on 400mg of Gleevec and started me on Hydrea. Not sure what it is but I'm taking it and so far no nausea or anything. My les just ache from these darn TED hose things they are making me wear. Worse than support hose!!! If that's all I have to complain about then I must be doing better, lol. Thanks for all your support and prayers! > > From: wendyphillips54 <wendyphillips54> > Subject: [ ] Answered Prayer!!!!! > groups (DOT) com > Date: Friday, June 19, 2009, 12:33 AM > > I got an email today from one of the local hospitals that I emailed trying to find an oncology Dr who specializes in CML.
