Guest guest
While an optimum mix of vitamins, minerals, and other supplements is essential in maximizing health, I am unaware of any significant direct impact that these can have on the virus. A few percent of people have some genetic protection against HIV disease protection .. about 2% from what I have read in the literature. The rest of us have to deal eventually with the (#@$%$#!$) meds. Selenium (brand Selenomax) is said to result in an increase of CD4 cells, and mine did go from 250 to 390 during the several months I tried it. However, since CD4 counts bounce around (and my percent CD4 cells stayed constant during this period) I am not sure that my experience has any medical significance. If you search on line you will find some clinical study information on this mineral. JerrySee AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. Guest guest
That is plain fiction, supplements do not prevent facial wasting, nor do they improve it. mark b --- rgb241 <rgb241@...> wrote: > > Don - I agree with you 100% - I'm sure glad I spent > my money on vitamins and supplements over the past > 20+ poz years - so I haven't had to spend money on > facial fillers and lipid/heart drugs now. > ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Many thanks to Mooney for sharing this article from Townsend Letters. Harold 's article about deficencies of Selenium, Cysteine,Glutamine, and Trypophan in people who are HIV-1 seropositve is enlightening. 's book 'What Really Causes AIDS' can be accessed from the www.Townsend Letter.com site. In his book he makes a compelling argument that eliminating the deficencies of these four nutrients is a key step in preventing progression to AIDS in people who are infected with HIV. There is no evidence that "deficiencies" of supplements are involved in the pathogensis of AIDS, and to post such missinformation does no service to anyone living with HIV.People who are seronegative and not healthcare providers, and who have at best a limited understanding of HIV pathogenesis should not be trying to guide the treatment decisions of people living with HIV, especially if they are making money from their efforts.JB
