Guest guest
LOL...well thank you Lottie for straightening that out. I wasn't sure what she was talking about but I didn't want to seem ignorant, lol. From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> Subject: [ ] Rugs " CML " < > Date: Monday, June 22, 2009, 7:04 AM Dear , I wanted to tell you that in the British Isles and probably in AU, also, when Sue talked about a rug, it's not a wig, it's a small blanket. I bought some in Scotland and I use them in the hospital and the van to keep me warm, because Jimmy says he needs the cold air to keep him awake while he drives.. Just thought you'd want to know. LOL Hands and hearts, Lottie
Guest guest
Lottie and Rugs that is so funny - I cannot help laughing Forget we really do not speak the same language even if we came from the country. Australia has different names for all sorts of products such as bathers, could be called swimmers or cozzies depending on where you live, the same with different food - especially vegetables. Rugs are blankets where I live You girls are great for a laugh - glad you are out of hospital and home. Guest guest
LOL...thanks for telling me Sue. I have a friend from the UK and the first time I met her was in a mall and we had lunch together. When we finished our lunch, she asked me where the loo was! Needless to say, I had NO idea what in the world she was talking about so I asked her what a loo was. She laughed at me and explained that she had to potty, lol. I said " oh, you mean a restroom " ? We both had a good laugh over that. She also calls biscuits scones, I think. Not real sure about that but I know she don't call em biscuits. And fries are chips....gosh, it's amazing how different things are in different countries.
