Guest guest
Jeff, Ask ur DR to prescribe the insulin needles, it doesn't hurt using those needles. As for energy are u taking any vitamins? Take Care Lucy Thank you everyone for your help. I am glad to see I am not the only one brusing. The last shot realy got me. My wife tells me I look like I got into a fight with my 4 year old nephew and lost. But i digress. How do I get ahold of insulin needles? The Enbrell ones , now that you meation it, are big and dull. I really hope it gives me more enegry. Right now I am working 6 days a week and 10 hr days on top of a 5 month old at home. Take care all. Guest guest
Jeff, I just ask my pharmacist for the needles when I pick up my Enbrel. The first time they said I needed a note from the doctor but when I told them what I use it for they gave me the needles with no problem. They were even thankful because they shared the information with other users. I buy the 1cc BD Ultra-Fine Insulin Syringe (not the short needle). They come 10 to a bag for about $2. Here's another trick I've learned. When you insert the original needle into the vile try to find the soft spot. That rubber tends to be very hard and the thin spot is hard to find. Sometimes if I can't find a soft spot I punch the big needle in there a bunch of times and soften it up. That way when you put the insulin needle in it doesn't take off the smooth coating on the needle. Be very careful when you fill the syringe, the plunger will be ALL of the way back, don't let it pop out. Good luck. Try to get some rest. Fatigue is one of the worst parts of RA, for me. The more fatigued I get the more pain I feel. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I'm 33 and tired of hearing " you're too young to have RA " or " I thought only old women got that " . It kind of bugs me when people tell me I'm like an old woman. No offense to " mature " women. I am also a firefighter/first responder and I already notice I can't do things like I used to.
