You are in my prayers; Eva From: jackie schneider Sent: Monday, June 22, 2009 11:50 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Out of hospital!!! Dear , I'm so glad to hear you were able to go home. It's the best place for healing. I remember when I was taking the gleevec/zarnestra combo I had to eat a meal before taking the pills and it was horrible. I was nauseus, fatigued, ill feeling but had to eat. I hope they find a better way for you and you feel better. God Bless you! Jackie S. I appreciate everyone of you that prayed for me and have been here for support. I got out of the hospital today to my surprise because when I went in they told me to be prepared to stay a while. When the Dr told me today that I could go home IF I wanted to, I said well of course I want to go home. I had a really bad night last night. I had a very bad headache and then my legs were hurting so bad, I could not get comfortable for anything. I really felt sorry for my nurse because she gave me everything she could and nothing seemed to help. I just sat up on the side of the bed and I finally got some extra pillows and put under my knees and one on each side of my to prop my arms on. I finally fell asleep sometime after 5am this morning. Anyway, I am still on the Hydrea or 7 more doses along with the Gleevec. He did cut me back down to 400mgs of Gleevec. I will go see him in his office on Thursday to see what my WBC is. By the way Lottie, I didn't even have to ask him about the mutation test. He said if this doesn't work then they will do a mutation test to see if my body is absorbing the gleevec. He seems to know more than my Dr in SC did about CML. My liver is ok and my spleen is enlarged but only 16%. He said they don't really start worring about it until it gets to at least 30%. I am still a bit weak but that will just take time to get my strength back up. They made me eat so much while I was in the hospital and I think that was one of the reasons last night that I was nauseated and just so full feeling. I couldn't get comfortable. I just don't have much of an appetite and they was pushing the fluids in me because I was dehydrated and then was making me eat before I took my meds to keep me from being nauseated. Oh well, who knows? But I have not eaten much today and I feel a lot better in that area. He also took me off the Mobic that I was taking and said that could be what was causing me to have the stomach problems. I am really glad I found this Dr because he seems to really know his stuff. So thank you all for all the prayers and support and I will keep you all posted on how things are going. One thing before I close, does the Hydrea cause bad headaches? I have one everytime I take one of the pills. Lots of love to all of you!
