Guest guest
Darvocette My ONC prescribed Darvocette and I usually take one in the envening or before bed to combat leg pain and also pain from a hip replacement and fused ankle. ____________________ Dear Margaret, Thank you for your input. I am surprised to learn that you are taking pain pills after a hip replacement. I was wondering if you could tell us why you have to take pain medication since the surgery was supposed to eradicate the pain. I am contemplating back surgery, knee replacement and later hip replacement if the pain pain continues as it has. I am more than a little hesitant to even consider surgery for any of them now. I also looked up the difference between Darvon and Darvocette and was surprised at what I read. It's lengthy, so I only posted a small segment and offer the web site if you are interested in reading more. I am going to send this to my pain specialist tomorrow to see what he has to say. " Somewhere in between, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stepped up its campaign against Darvon, limiting how and when and for how long doctors could prescribe the drug. So what's everybody got against Darvon, anyway? And why, in spite of a lot of people's best efforts, won't it (and other propoxyphene-based drugs like it) go away? Good questions. But to answer them fully we first have to look closely at the make-up and properties of the drug itself: the chemical propoxyphene. ..What it is, what it isn't? So what is propoxyphene? Structurally, it's a relative of the synthetic narcotic, methadone. It's prescribed in two forms -- propoxyphene hydrochloride and propoxyphene napsylate -- for relief of mild to moderate pain. http://www.ask.com/bar?q=difference+between+darvon+and+darvocette & page=1 & qsrc=21\ 06 & ab=0 & u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.doitnow.org%2Fpages%2F157.html Hands and hearts, Lottie
