Guest guest
Dear Lottie, I was recently prescribed Darvon for leg pain. I could not sleep last night because I couldn't get comfortable. They ached terribly. Anyway, this morning I soaked in a hot bath for 15 min and it helped. I then took 1 Darvon and that helped even more. That's all I have taken today. Tonight at bedtime I'm going to do the same routine to hopefully get a good nights sleep. Where is your pain? It sounds terrible. The Darvon says not to mix it with other meds. Could you get relief with one or the other? Be careful Lottie. You don't want to hurt yourself. God Bless, Jackie S. From: Lottie Duthu <lotajam@...> Subject: [ ] Darvon and/or Neurontin " CML " < > Date: Saturday, June 20, 2009, 3:00 PM Please someone, if you are taking either Darvon or Neurontin, please tell me if you have side effects or if you find relief from it? I take both at the same time. Sometimes the Darvon makes me so loopy, I can't think. I was talking to my son this morning and every other word I had to stop and ask him for the word I was trying to say. Yesterday it hit me about 4 hours after I took it. I was sitting in the waiting room for Jimmy to get a field vision test, which did not turn out too well, we will have to wait until next week or so to find out more particularly. I was so loopy he had to hold me up and drive with dialated eyes. We were out of town, so we went to get something to eat and I had to hold on to him. When we got home, I went right to my recliner (electric chair) and went to sleep for several hours. Jimmy fed me something (can't remember what) and then I went back to sleep in my recliner. By the time I got up this morning, the Darvon had worn off and I was literally screaming with pain and Jimmy had to help me get my clothes on while sitting in my wheelie walker. They should the scale from 1 to 11 instead of 10. I sat with my heating pad for a while and I am doing better, but this was a nightmare and it was real. Jimmy is afraid to leave the house to run errands until I am up and can manage my pain on my own. I have an appointment to see a psyiatrist next week, who will evaluate me to see what doctor to see. I want an xstop inserted and no one knows what it is, so if they don't have basic knowledge about it, I don't want to be their first. Most doctors don't know what I am talking about. 's wife had 2 put in and she is doing fine. When I call a doctor's office, I ask if they are board certified and how many of these surgeries they do. If you are listening, , please send me that list from Baton Rouge. I have been to several web sites and I am sent to some weird sites and after answering a few questions, get sent back to the same home page. Guest guest
Gosh Lottie, I am so sad to hear that you have been in so much pain. Here I am complaining of a little weakness and feeling like I'm gonna pass out and you sound like you are in excruciating pain. I am so sorry that you are feeling this bad. I pray that you will get better very soon and not be in any pain. Guest guest
My ONC prescribed Darvocette and I usually take one in the envening or before bed to combat leg pain and also pain from a hip replacement and fused ankle. It is a life saver, and only one will do the trick. He doesn't want me taking any over-the-counter because of possible liver damage since I have a daily pain management challenge. I've experienced no problem with Darvocette and Gleevec. Good luck. Margaret , mpraymond@... margaret-raymond@... Guest guest
I also take Darvocet for pain in my legs and right side. I have been on it for over 2 years and it works for me also. It's not enough to make you loopy but it is enough to ease the pain. Sometimes if I have a bad headache like I have had today, I will take 2 at a time and it works for that also. I have had no complications with taking it with Gleevec as well.
