Guest guest
Carla, I've seen people with hands like this but just on the palms . . . Is yours all over? . . . Do they feel hot? If your hands are dry, ou might try using Virgin Coconut Oil for a moisteriser. . . No chemicals added. You can find it at health food stores. Guest guest
Yes I did get a hives from it so bad it left some scars. Joy rascalsniche@... wrote: I was on generic plaquinel also...had a bad rash from it..started at my stomach and worked its way up to my chest and then down to my feet. It was so itchy and i was miserable. Rheumy discontinued it, put me on arava generic and i have been fine.. But it took about 10 days to 2 weeks to get rid of all the rash...and about 2 days for the itching to stop. a ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Question - experiencing rashes again ? Answer - Yes First Year - every couple of weeks Second Year - since PCRU - every couple of months As various and different but seem to have now settled in to a routine of rashes that seem to be similiar but in various locations and now smaller rash size in locations. Mostly arms, front of legs, shins, top of feet - and I have found that I am as vain as the next person - on my face - but really tiny (twice) Blood blisters, blood blister rash - that was a beauty; hives, welts, other funny thing that looked like ring worm but turned out later on to be psoriaris type thing, shingles, another funny bumpy rash, and fantastically enough non-itchy. Rashes come and go - For some reason I think that maybe the end of them - this of course if wishful thinking. Singles I may always have now - when my immunity is down - but lets see. Since I am at the allergist's office weekly for shots, I decided to ask one of the residents about my rash, and ended up in a room being poked and prodded by a whole bunch of green doctors (gotta love a teaching hospital!). Long story short, I was diagnosed with dermatitis herpetiformis, and I'm in the small percentage of people who have it *without* having celiac disease. They gave me dapsone, and the rash resolved. About three or four days before the end of the course of dapsone, I started getting what looks like excema all over my hands. I went back to the allergist and he prescribed some medicated cream, but I'm being cheap and haven't filled it yet. The rash has now spread all over my arms, chest and legs. I will get the prescription filled tomorrow, but it doesn't really look like excema anymore - it's flaky and shiny and red, almost looks more like hives or welts. Anyone have any deep thoughts on rashes or have autoimmune-mediated skin conditions? I'm pretty much tired of going to the doctor, so any homeopathic remedies would be welcome, too! Guest guest
that's funny cause i wrote it could be psoriasis too before i read this. And yes ra and psoriasis are very simillar although my rheumy tells me that psoriatic is more evil than ra. It destroys joints very fast unless gotten in time. not to say ra doesn't destroy psoriatic is just quicker. Jolene In a message dated 11/2/2009 3:52:37 P.M. I had read your post and I must say that your " rash " sounds alot like Psoriasis(which I developed before the Psoriatic Arthritis). Psoriatic and Rheumatoid Arthritis are very, very similar to each other. I would suggest researching Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis and asking your doctor about it as well. I wish you luck and hope you get it figured out soon! - L. > > Hi ya'll, > > A few weeks ago I had a bizarre rash on my hand and lower arm. Guest guest
Jolene, most people with psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis who use the anti-TNF biologics used in RA don't have an exacerbation of their psoriasis. Guest guest
You're welcome, Margie. Yes, I'm the moderator/room mother of the group. The " not an MD " part of my signature started as a joke of sorts. Several years ago, one member did not fully appreciate my opinion on a certain topic and exclaimed, " But you aren't even a doctor!!! " I'm now using it as a disclaimer, so I may opine at will.
