Guest guest
Hi Leeka, Because LDN tends to initially worsen MS symptoms (especially spasticity), the recommended starting dose is 1.5 mg for the first month, 3 mg the next month, and then 4.5 mg thereafter. This site has information about dealing with MS-related spasms: http://tinyurl.com/3xjll9 For information about treating MS with LDN, visit http://tinyurl.com/grpm9 For information about dealing with Lyme disease, visit http://tinyurl.com/2y4n3w With best wishes, Dudley Delany dudley_delany [low dose naltrexone] leg pain I started LDN about two weeks ago. For the first few days I had improved energy, but then the exacerbation of leg pain with continual cramping kicked in. What has anyone done to help with this? How long does it usually last? Since I went off pain meds to take LDN, i am just taking supplements and herbs for pain. I suggested to my doctor to reduce my presctiption to 1.5 mg for the first month, but he thinks i should just stick it out until it gets better. I've started at 3.5 mg. I thought I was having issues with spasticity, but after a neurological exam my doctor said I am not and prescribed an anti-depressant and told me to just take tylenol. I was on vicodin before the exacerbation and now of course I'm not taking it. I'm back in bed and going out of my mind. I'm interested to know what others have found helpful? Thanks to all in this group who helped me find a doctor to prescribe LDN. Thank you, leeka diagnosed with M.S., Transverse Myelitis, Fibromyalgia, C.F.I.D.S., Lyme and Babesia. Guest guest
Hello Leeka55, This is the first I have responded in this group. I have been diagnosed with MS in 2000 and started with Copaxone, till it put me in the hospital and bloated my entire body kept having relapses and going backwards, then I fired that doc; got another one that put me on Rebif and tons of pills, relapses kept on and in and out of the hospital, the flulike symptoms would not stop week after week, so after doing a lot of research asked him to put me on LDN and he wouldn't so once again I went in search of another doctor. Finally found one and got on LDN about a year ago at 3mg. Now my legs are paining me a lot, my balance is still bad and last week I got the shingles of course it set in on my worst leg. I totally understand about the leg pain and added shingle pain to it. Only can take Tylenol right now and it does not touch the pain. They say do not take any aspirin with the shingles, dont know why, sorry for rambling on, cant sleep now and read your email so I thought I would respond. Sure hope you will feel better soon. > > I started LDN about two weeks ago. For the first few days I had improved energy, but then > the exacerbation of leg pain with continual cramping kicked in. Guest guest
Hi , I suggest you increase your nightly dose of LDN to 4.5 mg. In regard to your shingles, you may find the following information about colloidal silver (CS) of interest. CS, which should not be confused with colloidal silver protein (CSP), is a natural, non-toxic, broad-spectrum antibiotic that consists entirely of tiny, submicroscopic particles of silver suspended in distilled water. CS is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, and in laboratory studies has been shown to kill more than 600 known pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi. Pathogens find it extremely difficult to develop resistance to CS. CS has been called " the wonder cure that time forgot, " because it is by no means a new developement. It is sold extensively on the Internet, but is much cheaper to make your own, which you can do for pennies an ounce. Some people with shingles claim that taking CS has been of tremendous benefit to them. See, for example, http://tinyurl.com/257dag For more information about colloidal silver, visit http://tinyurl.com/2fd7xs There are a number of pain-killers compatible with LDN listed at http://tinyurl.com/2p57xv With best wishes, Dudley Delany dudley_delany [low dose naltrexone] Re: leg pain Hello Leeka55, This is the first I have responded in this group. Guest guest
- do you know where I can get some of this stuff online?? I do not have a whole foods store close to me. It is about an hour away. Much Love, Beth Re: Leg Pain Beth, My son takes by New Chapter called tiny tabs he is 9 years old and they are so tiny a 2 year old can swallow them...... Great Vitamins. And for your aches and pains .........I use Arnica Montana 30X its homeopathic medicine in your health food store. Or you can use Pain Relief which my whole family uses for migranes and this is also homeopathic at your health food stores. Works better than any drug except it dont harm you. I do not really know exactly how to describe it but it feels like a burning sensation when I kneel down for awhile and then stand up. My knees and ankles in general have been achey. It has gotten really cold here the past couple of days and I thought that had saomething to do with it. My wrist are also achy but I notice it the most after I stand up and it is mostly behind my knee where my leg bends and down the back of my leg. Any idea as to what may be going on and what to do to try to find comfort??? My wrist do not bother me as bad as my legs and some times it feels musular but other times, it feels like it is more my joints or even circulation. It is hard to describe. My wrist ache more like it is joint related or even immflamed. I was at the sotre today cheking out supplements and found what seems to be a good combo pill for the calcium/vitamin D/mag. and also a combo of vitamin C and echinea. Has anyone ever tried St. s Wart for a better mood? I also am looking for something to help boost my metabolism. I did not seem to find anything for that, although, I am not real sure what I am even looking for. I also found Milk Thisle which I know has been highly recommended for liver support. Also, for the supplements, I am looking for a good multi-vitamin for my son. He is 3 1/2. I noticed one that looked really good and even had the Choline in it. However, in big red print it saids that it contains "phenylalanine" . I wrote it down and looked it up when I got home. It does not look like something I want to be giving my son. I figured it was a warning wince it was in big, bold red print. Any suggestions on good multi's for him??? He is very healthy but I am sure he could benefit from multi's.Much Love,Beth Who's never won? Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. Guest guest
I already take a lot of minerals because I will get restless leg syndrome if I don't so I don't think it is the lack of minerals. Actually the pain went away yesterday after my husband prayed for me, and it hasn't returned so I will keep praying that it doesn't. Hopefully it is gone for good. Guest guest
Longer lasting correction would be by taking Magnesium in liquid form two to three times a day. You want to correct the imbalance between calcium and magnesium. Topical applications tend to be short term solutions, while regular oral supplementation can improve the ratio and ease the spasms long term. The other thing that helps with leg spasms (cramps) is vitamin E and also quinine. All of these work well with LDN. mjh www.ldn-help.cpm <--- get LDN brochure, find a doc, see our faces, hear Bradley and more Access 350+ FREE radio stations anytime from anywhere on the web. I also ordered that spray magnesium oil from Swanson which I've heard helps, though the same can be absorbed via epsom salt baths - this may be worth a try for a bit of relief. Guest guest
Dear Margaret, Do you actually feel pain, or is it restless leg syndrome or spasms. Since I am on Darvon, I feel neither the restless legs or the spasms and Charlie Horses, but it is not doing that much for pain in my back.
