I have been drinking KT for 6 months and hoped that it would help with

my hypothyroidism. Had a blood test done right before I started

drinking KT and just had another last week. The bad news is that my

condition has gotten worse not better. I was disappointed. Thought

maybe i was on to something. Still like KT and will continue drinking

it - not sure about all the hype around health benefits.

KT like any other remedy, food or drug may not work on all people- that

does not mean that all the information about it is " hype " I personally have

experienced many many health benefits, like increased energy, better

digestion, control of yeast infections, etc. I treat my hypothyroidism with

Lugol's iodine drops.

Hi EveryOne,

If you don't have enough thyroid hormone, you need thyroid hormone and

Kombucha does not contain thyroid hormone.....thus Kombucha will not

replace missing thyroid hormone, or any other hormone that may be

deficient in your body.

While Kombucha seems to have many benefits for many people it is not a

cure-all. It is a healthy food that helps the body to stay healthy and

keep in balance. Kombucha is one of the most healing foods I know!

Right Zoe and Thank You,

If the reason for your hypothyroidism is a deficiency of Iodine or

Selenium or other nutrient then replacing that may be all you need.

Forgot to mention that....Thank You Zoe:-))

Hi

I just wanted to inject a few advices here. They are coming from an engineer NOT

a health professional. The warnings out of the way.

I have come to look at the body in a holistic fashion. A system of extraordinary

connected subsystems... One should try to keep them in balance as much as

possible; when they are out of balance then we become sick. We see " disease "

and things do not function the way they should. We must be careful in

approaching " disease " in too a narrow, ultra-targeted fashion... Such targeted

approaches tend to " treat " a symptom rather than cure the body... Often what we

perceive as a specific disease may come from an altogether unseen, unidentified

condition, we treat the " symptom " while leaving its true cause un-addressed, it

often comes back in another form.... Good example is Eczema which is often (not

always from my understanding , read the warnings) a sign of Yeast infestation,

itself often caused by bad eating habits or too much sugar or Gluten intake or

too much processed food, did someone say High Fructose Corn Syrup which seems to

be EVERYWHERE...

I would advise people to continue take their KT since it tends to do a

wonderful Housekeeping job and see a health professional, preferably an

holistic Health Practitioner to put the body back in balance or at least bring

it closer to that.

thank you all for your advice and thoughts! feeling very blessed by

the quick response. my mother had to have her thyroid removed and i

just heard that several other relatives have thyroid issues, and two

of them have another disease connected to it. anyway it's some

lovely genes i've got!

i do really resonate with wanting to not just " fix " with medicine an

isolated issue. i believe that if our bodies are in balance they can

take care of themselves in a more natural way. so thank you for that.

i have to get more blood tests tomorrow and i've already mentioned to

my doctor that i'd like a more natural approach, at least to try it

first. she seemed quite hesitant on that (though i do like her in

general) and i do know that some things do need assistance more than

drinking kombucha! ha.

but i have noticed a lot of the symptoms i have that are related to

thyroid have lessened So much since starting kombucha: i have so

much more energy, i'm not stiff in the morning or after sitting for a

while or on rainy days, my digestion is great and i haven't been sick

at all, plus no depression or anxiety which used to ebb and flow a

lot.

i'm wondering if the extra daily cleansing and immune-system boosting

is helping my body overcome some of the effects of an imbalanced

thyroid. i do know that thyroid imbalance is related with stress,

toxins in the brain, lowered immune system, and other stressors that

can increase the thyroid problem. if kombucha helps with all these,

then perhaps it helps the thyroid not be so taxed as well. here's

hoping.

so, we shall see what the results from tomorrow morning say-thanks in

advance for your prayers and good vibes and whatever you'd like to

send out for me.

thanks for being, as always even when i don't post, such a blessing.

Kombucha is not a cure all but does help a lot of people with alot of different

maladies............It is certainly not " HYPE " in my situation. I had High

blood pressure that doctors tried everything on.(gave me their BEST shot) and

could not control it. 3 months into drinking KT, I gave up my expensive high

blood pressure medication, and haven't needed it since!! I had been taking

EXPENSIVE sleeping pills for years as I was alight sleeper and could not go to

sleep til late then slept lightly off and on all night-NIGHTS WERE MISERABLE

WITHOUT MY SLEEPING PILLS.......3 WEEKS into my KT I was sleeping all night, one

of the most restful sleeps.....no more sleeping pills, no more sluggish days

after the sleeping pills. I now enjoy such restful, relaxing sleeping.

My wife and I were managing a company putting in 60-75 hours each every week.

We are in our 60's and we never had energy to spend any time with our family!!

It was work, sleep, and eat...that's it. We felt so guilty that we had no more

time to devote to them......after 1 month on KT our energy level shot up and has

stayed up as long as we stay with KT on regular basis. Our attitude and outlook

on everything is so much better.....and the only change we have made during this

period of events is we started drinking Kombucha!!!

I will not take up any more of the list's time, or I would tell you of the

tremendous changes and health benefits my 85 year old step mother has received

since we got her to drinking KT....SHE WOULDN'T BE WITH OUT IT!! I guess you

can see we are $old on Kombucha and we tell everyone everywhere we go what a

difference it has made in our lives..........IT IS DEFINITELY NOT HYPE FOR US!!

Kombucha forever,

That's really exciting! I, for one, would love to hear the benefits your step

mother experienced. The better sleep and energy are so encouraging to hear

about!

I have not felt anything yet from drinking KT, but I figure it's due to the

Lyme disease and will take awhile longer. I haven't been drinking it regularly

for the last few weeks while waiting for my brew. I have a bottle of it

chilling in the fridge now and expect more to be ready in a couple of days. (I

am doing the continuous brew, but added a lot of sweet tea last night to make up

for that bottle, taking starter, and evaporation that has occurred in the past

few weeks.)

Hi all...regarding any type of chronic complaint, whether hormonal,

visceral, musculo-skeletal....consider doing a dietary liver & colon

cleanse before going on meds.

I know there are lots of herbal cleanses out there...and they have

their place...but I don't consider that replaces a dietary cleanse. A

dietary cleanse will also give you a headstart on what is " good " to

eat and what is " not. "

Find one that fits you...it helped me amazingly.

The following website is a good place to start.
