Transfusions

Strange that you should mention transfusions. I had 2 units of blood this past

week. I am now transfusion dependent since Medicare stopped paying for Procrit.

When my hemoglobin drops below 9,000, then the oncologist gives me a script to

go to the infusion center. It depends on the meds you are on, too. I am in a

trial and my counts are all suppressed, in fact I was supposed to have knee

replacement on Easter Monday and it was cancelled because my platelets were

under 50k. In due time, you will be reading your reports and understand what

the counts mean. They should have a H or L next to it so you will know where

you stand. Also, on the right it should state what the counts should be.

HI LOTTIE, ME TOO, I HAD TWO UNITS TWO WEEKS AGO, I WAS 8.4 HGB. THE ARENESP

KEPT THE TRANSFUSIONS AWAY, THAT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN SPENDING THE DAY IN THE

HOSPITAL. THAT MAKES ABOUT 4 TRANSFUSIONS IN ABOUT A YEAR. I'M GOING TO CHECK

MY MEDICARE AND AARP INVOICES WHEN THEY COME IN, I THINK THE LAST ONE COST OVER

$3,000.00, WHILE A SHOT OF ARENESP COST $1700.00, TWICE A MONTH. COST WISE I

GUESS THE TRANSFUSIONS WIN. I AM WONDERING WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR MEDICARE

AND AARP WITH MR. OBAMA? AND NO REMARKS HERE, MR. STEWART!!! BOBBY
