" Boomers and older Americans worried about health care costs The survey showed significant concern among all age groups about future health care bills. More than one in five Americans age 45 to 64 (21%) reported being not very or not at all confident that they could afford medical care in 2009. " Good news: AARP Launches Money-Saving Prescription Drug Resource " By the end of this summer, more than one million older Americans will have fallen into the “doughnut hole”—a coverage gap in Medicare’s prescription drug program that leaves individuals on the hook for all of their own drug costs while still paying premiums.
