Thanks so much . She's just started drastically lowering her carb

intake, which should also be a great help with her diabetes. I'll look

into CoQ10, and I've also been wanting to get her on hawthorn. I'm not

sure I can get her to take very much fresh garlic, though. :) She does

take cod liver oil regularly.

Last night when I took her BP it was down, so hopefully something is

working. I'll check into these other suggestions also.

Thanks again!

Margie, Ask the pharmacist if the antidepressants have silicone dioxide in them . . .and if so, what options you have for a medication without it. . . Some women are hypersensitive to silicone dioxide. Hugs, Rogene

What antidepressant, there are many? You could ask for a change.

Hi Margie,

I have high blood pressure too. I developed it almost two years ago.

I've changed my meds twice and may have to change it again due to some

side effects. I sometimes wonder if these implants are causing it. I

seem to grow resistant to the dosages in a very short amount of time.

thank you for the info again, just talked to the doc, she was no help.. now I am just on the high blood pressure meds, no antidepressants.. Is there a end to this nightmare? All I am doing is chasing my tail. Why bother going to any more docs if no one believes me!!! Now the husband says I have made all this stuff up and I was just going on the antidepressants so I could deal with his crap... How is it your spouses can believe you all. Margie

You might try St. 's Wort, most highly prescribed anti-depressant

in Europe, available in Health Food Stores here.

If you look at my obnoxiously long post to kathy a while ago you will see that my poor husband has been put through the ringer with thse darn implant issues and strongly believes they made me sick.... he has seen it from start to now and i am sure at first he had his doubts... he is one of our best supporters and shares our message to any that will listen! I am sure he would be happy to help you by talking with your hubby as he has been put thru years of this mess.... let me know if you need the help! Also you can check my webpage made by a wonderful friend and supporter and have your hubby read it if he will - there is a ton of good links and info there that may help him as well

Margie, We have some husbands who will talk to your husband . . . It's not unusual for them to act like your hubby is when the doctor can't make a dx . . . Hang in there . . .be strong and do what you have to to get well. He'll probably come around when he sees you begin getting better . . . And feel all the worse for acting badly. Hugs and prayers, Rogene

5HTP converts to serotonin in the brain so it will increase it and works for

depression. It also helps with sleep. You can buy it in health food stores

too.

Margie,

For a long time my entire family thought I was crazy. I was a loner a lot when sick. It was very hard, nobody really believed me. When I found the support sites, and found out I had all the same symptoms. I went running down stairs like a women in stress. I looked my boyfriend in the eyes. I said, look my implants are making me deadly sick, believe me or not, I am needing them out now. I know I am right so don't argue with me. I need $13,000.00 so I can go to this doctor in Atlanta. I am done going to quacks around here, done and won't go back. I either need to get them out or die. He looks at me like Donna has completely lost her mind. Then said, well if that is what you need to do. I didn't tell most of my family til I got home. I just needed to get well and I think my boyfriend was sick and tired of seeing me sick and he just gave in I guess. Please just be firm with your husband, tell him this is my body I feel that I am right about this. If not, then I take my chances. I took my chances and was correct and you are correct as well. Please get them out Margie, when he reads your post-op report, or goes with you and the doctor confirms it. He will be sorry at that point. I think when I got explant it changed my boyfriend and a lot of my families minds. My boyfriend said, Donna you know a lot of us thought you were going crazy, I am so sorry we didn't believe you and support you more when you were sick. He felt bad so did my daughter, she was salty trust me. Your sickness effects your entire family, we all were exhausted before I got explant. I think they were so sick of not having me to be there for there every need. Women as Mothers and Wife's are very much depended on. When we are sick the whole house shuts down. Make your appointment and just go, show them the report and they will all get over it. I know when my boyfriend was sitting next to me in the recovery room and DR. Kolb walks in and she really get's into her work. She is all upset about it, saying Donna I was right, there was infection in the right implant, it was leaking and stuff floating in it. I looked at my boyfriend and his reaction on his face was OMG I am so sorry. Just get it done Margie, don't look back, if you need someone to go support you I will go with you. I need to go back to Dr. Kolb's anyway and maybe get a little more treatment. Let me know and good luck Margie.

I only had high blood pressure while I had implants. I have had low

blood pressure my entire life, and for about 4 of the 6 months I had

implants, my blood pressure was high - 145/98, when it normally was

110/60.

Margie,

My husband was a very hard sell on the concept of implant illness.

I wanted to have them removed about a month after I got them,

because I knew my body wasn't tolerating them well. I couldn't even

discuss being ill with my husband because he would fly into a rage

whenever I brought up the subject. He thought I was being neurotic,

those were his words. Meanwhile my thumbs swelled up to double

their normal size, my blood pressure skyrocketed, all these horrible

things were happening and I told my husband I needed him to be my

rock, and he was being my brick wall. I surely would have had a

nervous breakdown if I hadn't had the implants removed, and I

contemplated suicide because it seemed like that was the only way

out. My husband would not listen to me, and was furious that I even

suggested it could be the implants. I felt like he was controlling

what I did with my body, and that was intolerable. He wanted an MD

to tell him that the implants were making me sick, and I told him

there was no test that could confirm that, and not many doctors who

would admit it. Finally I made an appointment with Dr. Feng and

after weeks of trying to bring it up with my husband, with the same

disastrous results, I finally just loaded up the car one morning and

called him while I was en-route to Dr. Feng's office. Talk about a

wake up call, he started believing me after that. He was still a

bit touch and go before explant, but after explant he was better. I

hosted Thanksgiving two weeks after my explant, and my husband was

being pretty rotten and I just marched upstairs after him, pointed

my finger at him, and in my best Blair impersonation (from the

Exorcist) said " cut the crap " . He said that snapped him out of it,

imagine that?

Hi Rogene,

I dont have any cholesterol or weight problems. Actually my

cholesterol levels are really good. I'm 5'3 " and only 110 lbs. And

to me, the only stress I have are these implants. So I am really

wondering why someone my age has HBP.

Hi Sis,

That's what my reading were like, they are nothing outrageous just mild

hypertension readings 140's / 90's. I've been on meds for almost two

years and the side effects are horrible.

I hope that once I get these out, it will help to alleviate the stress

my body in under and as a result lowering my blood pressure. If not,

then I'll continue to deal with it.

Where you on any meds?

MARGIE

I am so sorry... sometime it takes time for them to understand.... yours seems like an extreme case. Would he be willing to call here? My hubby has been thru sooo much w. my illnesses that I know he could help tremendously but I guess you have to want help for it to work.... mine has seen what I have gone thru... read the doctor reports - he fully understands the dangers so I am lucky. There are several books out I could recommend for reading if you think he would consider that.... probably not I guess. What really got my hubby interested from the beginning is all the web pages I found with all the womens' stories.... I sat him down in front of the PC and let him, at his own pace, just start reading all the other womens' stories... I had met none of them - none of them lived near... the only thing in common was all the same symptoms... this is what got him interested although I will admit he never like the implants to start with anyways. There is a files section on the group with a ton of womens' stories.... see if he will read thse or print them out and highlight the similar symptoms... there had to be a way to get thru to him - we just have to be creative. Where do you live? there is a wonderful Rhuemmy down here that not only believes us, has written several books about it. it takes a wile to get in but on my first visit I had all my med records w/ me. he didn't look at any of them. I still had the implants at the time and was trying to figure out the causes of my illnesses at that point.... He sat down and before I could open my mouth, proceeded to tell me almost word for word what was wrong with me - ow it started and what got progressively worse. Again - I told him noting - this to me was the BEST info available. A doctor who doesn't know me from adam---- asked if I had implants and what type and that is all I said.... from there he floored me with an hour worth of info on how I started getting sick - what I first noticed, how it giot worse... most of my symptons, etc. all this without looking at my file. I was floored - this was after doctor visit after doc visit telling me nothing was wrong.... I left his office abd sat in my car and cried for an hour before I could leave I was SO freaked out.... it is what I needed... I immediately made an explant appt and the rest is history... I will NEVER regret removing the implants. there is NO WAY this doctor knew me.... he just knew the implant situation so well e had seem thousands of patients.... he has a book you can order called "the Silicon Breast Implant Controversy" - what women need to know: written by B, Vasey, MD, and Josh Feldstien. It has wonderful info in it as well as saline info. There is also another book I read which is really sad but true: Betrayed, by Gloria L. Bywalec and Marie Rzeppa - I would highly recommend bit of these - if your hubby won't read them you really should. Maybe you could find things that relate to you and get him to read excerpts.... I feel so bad for you as I am so lucky my hubby is a believer... It must be sop very hard to gop thru this w/out his help. Hopefully he will come around. also visit this web site for a TON of info - it has a tone o n women, studies, facts, doctor comments - all kinds of great reading material for both of you. You may have already been there but it is

www.breastimplantawareness.org

it is a greast site made by a wonderful woman... my info is on there as well as a link to my site as she is the one that made it for me. You are NOT alone- always remember we are here and we are definite believers!!!! Please email me privately if you need to talk and I will give you me # - don't give up - there is soooo much info and help out there - there are so many womoe on this site willing to share and help... when I first joined I'll bet the membership has tripled if not more!!!! there are wonderful ladies here for you always!!! You will never find a lack of love and support with us!!

Margie,

I know how frustrating that is, and I'm sending a great big prayer

your way. I hope things fall into place for you and that you're

able to recover. Have you looked into having the scar capsules

removed, or is your hubby the road block to that?

Margie, Stress is a killer . . . It's one thing to be sick . . . but being stressed while we're sick is another! . . . Keep looking for ways to break the cycle of stress you're under! . . . If YOU change, he will have to change . . . Find a way to turn serious moments into laughing moments . . . Do or say something silly . . . Sis can give you some outstanding suggestions! . . . She nearly had to use a baseball bat (metaphorically speaking), but she got her hubby's attention. Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Do they know the underlying cause of your high bp?  If it's dangerously high,

perhaps being hospitalized might be an efficient way for them to run tests

needed to properly diagnose the problem and find a solution for you urgently?

Just wondering.

You can ask about your doctor about supplements like calcium, magnesium,

potassium, fish oil, olive oil, vitamin C, niacin, and perhaps working with a

nutritionist for meal planning counseling, but the best thing to do is to find

a doctor you trust and then follow his/her advice, even if that means going to

the hospital.  I know it's terrible being there, but if that's what's being

suggested, your condition must be serious.  Maybe they can find an answer for

you there.  I'm sorry you are going through this and I hope they find something

to help you soon.

Marci,

I just saw your other email indicating you just came home from being at the

hospital for three weeks already and that you suffered three strokes.  I'm so

sorry.  I understand now why it would be so difficult for you to go back into

the hospital so soon.

I'm wondering if your insurance company can help you.  Since hospitalization is

so expensive, many times they are willing to set up extra services so you can

stay in your home.  Perhaps you can contact customer service and ask for a case

management nurse.  The nurse may be able to work with your doctor to set

something up at home.

Is there someone who is checking your blood pressure throughout the day?  I have

a close friend who has struggled with blood pressure issue.  For Christmas one

year, I got him an Omron wrist monitor.  He really liked it because it allowed

him to check his pressure at several times during the day and he was able to

learn what things made it high and what things helped.  I'm wondering if

it might be useful for you too.  The system automatically records up to 90

readings, so you don't have to write it down.  Also, since you aren't able to

move your right side, perhaps you could wear it on the left and you wouldn't

have to hook anything up to use it.

Also, for him, the fish oil helped a lot.

I'm so sorry for your situation.  Do you have a new grandbaby on the way?  If

so, congratulations!
