Guest guest
Marci......I'm not telling you what to do...I'm telling you what happened to me, and what I did....My B.P. pills made my B.P. higher. My doc. couldn't believe it...I'm on a low/no salt diet and I'm losing more weight. Not an easy answer! Too much salt in the things we buy......Cooked a roast the other day and didn't need any salt...look it up they are pumping water and salt into every thing for a longer shelf life. You could be eating spoiled food and not even know it. Geri
Guest guest
Hi Marci, I know very little about blood messure medications, but I did find some interesting information at the Mayo Clinic's site. They talk about talking two different medications to get better results, rather than just taking more of the same one. This might be something to discuss with your doctor right away. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-blood-pressure-medication/HI00028 Can you get a second opinion from another doctor? Have you been able to see a board certified cardiologist? Your instinct is telling you something isn't right in the advice you are being given, so keep pushing for an answer that makes sense and try to get more than one opinion if you are physically able. Also, if you have a commercial insurance policy, they may have a nurse who can help you get a revised treatment plan from your doctor. Maybe your sister-in-law can make some phone calls for you and help you get a better answer by continuing to ask questions like, 'If medication X hasn't helped at all, how likely is it that increasing the dosage will help?', 'Isn't a dosage of XXX already considered high?', 'What are the side effects of increasing to a dosage of XXX?', 'Would it be better to try a different medication instead?', 'What about trying two medications at once?' Just keep asking questions. Doctors are busy, but your situation is serious. Insist on answers that make sense.

Guest guest
Marci, I'm feel very bad for you in this situation. Are the doctors sure there isn't still some kind of arterial blockage? I assume that they tested for that type of thing when you were in the hospital. Is there something we can do to help you? Would you like assistance looking up the medications you are on to see what they are typically used for? You are welcome to email me privately with the names and I'll look them up for you. Perhaps all five aren't for high BP. Do you need assistance finding a new doctor, a specialist, or a second opinion doctor? Here is a site you can use to find a board certified specialist http://www.abms.org/. If you don't feel up to it, you can email me privately with your zip code and the type of doctor you need and I can look it up for you. Or maybe your SIL can call your insurance company and ask for help finding a board certified specialist that's on your plan. If there's something we can do to help, please let us know. Guest guest
I went in for the results of my most recent BMB and my blood pressure was 150/110 which seems pretty darn high. I have been trending toward higher blood pressure for the last nine months, but I was surprised that it was that much higher. I see on the Tasigna list that HBP is one of the side effects. Has anyone else experienced it and if so, what did you do. Guest guest
Just looked over my last 2 posts and my writing is practically unreadable-this is a sure sign to me that I'm sicker than I thought. I apologize for the bad english and nonsensical sentences! But thanks for your suggestions! Surella > > The stress of all this stuff is starting to raise my blood pressure.
