Triglycerides rise in respnse to unsaturated and polyunsaturated

oils, canola for example raises them 45% but coconut oil reduces them

17%. This and other studies are on my coconut oil page.

==>The reason your cholesterol and triglycerides have increased is

because of detoxification, which coconut oil and the diet help your

body do more effectively, and also because of the increase in toxins

released when candida is being killed off. The body deals with toxins

in a very ordered fashion and one of the steps is the raising blood

lipids (HDL, LDL and VLDL cholesterol and tryglycerides.), which are

temporary while you are detoxifying.

==>Fibres are actually quote damaging to the body - see these articles:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu3_2.php

==>If you change your diet by gradually decreasing carbs and follow the

protein, fat and carbs ratios recommended you will not have elimination

problems. In fact your digestive system will become much healthier

because the high good saturated fats strengthen and heal the intestines.

==>To help your adrenals see th3 1st two articles here:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu4_7_1.php

==>This diet plus supplements will do a good job of keeping your blood

sugar levelled off.

Hi , Yes, I had VERY HIGH TRIGLYCERIDES ( 1040) for years untill I was

diagnosed with low thyroid function. Taking thyroid hormone replacement brought

them down to about 240. Thats a huge drop. (My cholesterol also came down from

215 to 165.) Its a well established medical fact about the relationship between

triglycerides, cholesterol, and thyroid hormone deficiency.

I don't know if testosterone has an impact on triglycerides, but I wouldn't be

surprised if it did cause I read that testosterone increases metabolism. If

thats true, then an increase in metabolic rate would logically burn off

triglycerides. Maybe THIS is why I can't get my triglycerides all the way down

to normal range despite my perfect thyroid numbers.

Hello Group,

Anyone else suffer from high triglycerides? I don't know if they

could have any relation to testosterone levels, but mine used to be

650. I take Tricor and it's brought them down to about 280. Any

relation to T? Anyone know what causes high triglycerides? Food,

genetics??

Thanks!

About a year ago, my blood work came back with Triglycerides of over 600. I

think the top of the " normal " range was 199. My internist suggested two

alternative: an Rx for this which would lower triglycerides and cholesterol or a

prescription for an ALL NATURAL Omega 3 called Omicor. This is just

prescription grade Omega 3 - no drugs - in a high controlled dose. After 6

months my tests came back at about 290 and now after a year I am in the high

normal range for troglycerides and cholesterol.

I do not have low test per the " clinical norms " but I just had full blood work

done (at my own expense because I could not get my internist or uroligist on

board) and all test levels were about 50 % of the high end of the normal range

for my age, which I suspect, while clinically normal, is low for me. I also had

a thyroid result (tsh) of barely working but still in the " normal " range, and my

Dr never addressed this . Unfortunatley, I didn't see this until after the Dr's

appointment so I didn't address it with him, but I will.

For reference, I am 56 yrs old and I am not on any hormone therapy.

Hope this is helpful.

The fasted way to drop your triglycerides is to cut your sugar intake.

Look at the sugar content o all your foods, and avoid white bread and

flour that just quickly converts to sugar.

I started doing this and dropped about 15 pounds in three weeks with

no limit on what I ate. My triglycerides dropped by half too.

When ever I am losing weight my levels go up don't remember how high but my Dr.

would tell me this is because I lost 20 lbs last 8 weeks.
