Guest guest
Hi Tammy, no, I sit in the sun, on almost any drug I have been on, but did not burn on Gleevec, and did not even tan well as I remember. But my sister brought something to my attention, I did not know about. I am on hydrochlorathiazide for high blood pressure, and she said i should not sit in the sun and didn't I read that on the bottle. I have been on it for so long, and have not really sat in the sun for a couple of years, so if I had read it, I forgot it. And here I am worried about Ariad and the sun, and there are other drugs out there that are also bad. But, it did say, one MAY be sensitive to it, and wear a good sun block, so I am not worried. So far this year I am tanning, with no problem, but am being very cautious. I'm sure your burn will heal, are you fair skinned? I was blonde years ago, but have always taken to the sun well, some habits just don't go away. good luck with the burn, and be careful next time!!!! Guest guest
Tammy, It will heal, but it may take about 5 or 6 days. I did the same thing on my cruise last March, only my legs ended up with the reddest bumps on them for about 4 days.
